Surprise arrest in Zaccaglini case

Today they arrested Ed Henline Sr. for the murder of Hannah Zaccaglini. She was fifteen years old when she disappeared near his home in McCloud, California in 1997. Ed Henline had long been considered a suspect in Hannah’s case but I had no idea they were planning to arrest him. I know they were also looking at Wesley Shermantine.

This article has a current picture of Henline. I can’t find any details about just what evidence they have against him, but I hope it’s enough to make the charge stick. Proving murder without a body is very hard of course, but if you look at my Corpus Delicti listings you’ll see the “convictions” list is more than three times longer than the “acquittals” one.

They probably can’t release any info about the evidence they have against him, at this point as it’s probably an ongoing investigation. But eventually we’ll probably find out…

Yeah, it’ll come out in time. They did say they think there are people know stuff and aren’t talking. Perhaps those people will come forward now.

Did you see how they actually indicted Pedro Hernandez, the guy who confessed to Etan Patz’s murder? If he did it and they think they can prove it, I hope they’ve got more than just his confession. I am quite skeptical and still think Ramos did it. (Speaking of Ramos, he got let out of prison in Pennsylvania a week or so ago…and was rearrested immediately after he walked out the door, on some old charge of not keeping up with his sex offender registration.)

I agree with you on Etan Patz Ramos also admitted to molesting Etan that day so it seems unlikely someone else would then kill him. I don’t think Hernandez was involved. So glad ramos’s perverted old ass is back in prison.

They said they found bone fragments in the article. Perhaps it meets the DNA. Who know?

They found more than just bone fragments, they found the entire body of Hanna Zaccaglini. Many in the community think the son of ED Henline actually did the deed, but no proof as of this date.

Where did you hear about them finding a body? I can’t find anything about that.

They found the bones last week, down near the reservoir. i heard that on the local radio station. The Sheriffs Dept. didn’t identify the remains as they said the case was still pending. Some ‘locals’ told me yesterday that they had arrested Ed for the Hanna case. I guess the bones could be related to the Karen Mero case, but I doubt it. i live in the area, and have for many years.

As the aunt of Hannah…no they didn’t find her remains. Thank you all for keeping her in your thoughts and more.

There is a pattern here. This pattern can be easily solved. But to look only at two girls from same house is ineffective. One must consider time as a whole. Start from 1980 and go all the way to present tense. Look at full siskiyou county corruption and at all levels…high to low. Lots of drugs amd pedophilia and deviant sex….high to low. Problem is that citizens do mot talk to outsiders nor authority. Hmmmm…. wonder Why? You will not flush them out. You must become one of them.

I am mot afriad to speak up and out!
      But who will listen?
