Per NCMEC, per Annie, Jane Puckett really has been located alive. There’s no other information, but the police plan to release something in a week or so.

That is awesome news. I’d just assumed she was killed after hitchhiking, never imagined she could still be alive all these years. Of course, that doesn’t mean the last 30 years have necessarily been HAPPY ones – I can’t imagine what a young teen must have had to go through to survive after running away, or what could compel her to stay away so long.

Thank you for all of you hard work. I enjoy reading your blog and getting your thoughts and point of view on cases. Has there been any more news on Jane Puckett? I’m interested in her story-it just goes to show, statistics mean nothing to the individual, and the indidvidual means nothing to statistics. Or something like that.

This girl was a classmate of mine, but you know more than I do. I’d love to know where she was all those years, but mostly, is it really her they found?
If you are watching In Session this week (April 2012). The trial of Tammi Peters Smith vs State of Arizona re: missing child Gabriel Scott Johnson, you will find Gabriel is Jane Puckett’s nieces child. Her neice is Elizabeth Johnson. Elizabeth is headed to court tentatively scheduled for Sept 4th. Elizabeth is the image of Jane. EJ left Tempe AZ with Gabriel. was on the run from Dec 19-Dec 31st. She was in San Antonio TX til the 27th, then boarded a bus ALONE to Florida where she was arrest on the 31st. Same state in which Jane was found. EJ said she smothered Gabriel and stuck his lifeless blue body in his diape rbag and stuck him in the dumpster. She later recanted that statement and said she handed him off to strangers in a park. She said the hand off was set up by Tammi Smith. We believe Gabriel is alive, but EJ will not cooperate with any of her lawyers – now on her fourth. She still sits in jail over 2 years later. Rosslyn Puckett, did not go missing the same time as her sister did. I know this because her and i were best friends for years till her death in 2007 in Boston.
