Here you go: my trip to Poland in PDF form.
Michael actually took LOADS of pictures, but some of them weren’t of good quality and many were at famous tourist sites with loads of photos already available, so I only included a few — mostly from Treblinka.
Thanks so much, Meaghan, for sharing this with us. Poland sure is beautiful, yet bittersweet. Must have given you goosebumps, seeing the Camp in person. My heart hurts for those who lost their lives. I’d love to go visit, and of course, eat!
What an interesting trip. I had all kinds of different feelings as I read the descriptions of your travels. At times I got really excited for you, then I shivered when I read about you walking through some of those places and seeing where and how so many real people of all ages lost their lives. The food sounded deliciousl. Interesting you met so many people that spoke English. I loved every minute I spend reading your recap.
Thank you for sharing. As a long-time lurker, it was nice to see a photo of you and Michael!
Sounds like a fun trip (bathrooms and the 3 b*tches aside). I have thought about traveling over seas to other countries where English isn’t commonly spoken but I have been afraid to because of the language barrier. Do either of you speak some Polish at all?
Butting in here to add my two cents, if that’s ok. I have found that if you are polite, and at least know how to ask if someone speaks English in their native language, most people are lovely and will help you out in any way possible. Don’t let language barriers scare you off! I have been all over Europe and can count on one hand the number of people who were rude because I couldn’t converse fluently in their language.
Thank you Nearer Keen! I am hoping to travel abroad someday. Hearing this makes me feel a whole lot better about doing it.
I’m glad you had a good experience in Poland! I’m planning on going to Eastern Europe next year for a few weeks, and Poland is definitely on my itinerary. My father is from there, but I have never been.
So great of you to share this! Thank you so much. I am thrilled that you had the opportunity to go there.
