MP of the week: Nestor Vega Osuna

This week’s featured missing person is Nestor Javier Vega Osuna, missing from Arroyo Grande, California since January 2011. Mr. Vega Osuna was last seen en route to Mexico, nearly 1,500 miles away. He was driving a pickup truck which was never located.

As to what happened? I have no clue. Nestor was 38 years old.

You should have a list of people who drove to Mexico and vanished. I know of at least four who drove there for multiple reasons and completely vanished as well as their cars.

That’s a good idea. I have got quite short lists (and one of them so random you won’t believe it) already written for the next two weeks, but I’ll see about getting it done for the third week in November.

Would it be logical to suggest that drug cartels were involved somehow?

I mean – we’ll probably never know, but with the amount of deaths over there from all the drug trafficking related activity, I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case.

Could be — which is not to imply that Nestor himself was involved with drugs. He may not have been. Plenty of innocent bystanders find themselves victims of the drug war down there.
