Today I scanned a portrait photo of myself and my boyfriend, taken for his family’s church bulletin in late September. Presenting me and Michael! (I thought about just posting it on here, but that would mess up the current “no pictures” status of this blog. Plus it’s a pretty big image.)
So now I have a recent photo for Mom to give to the cops if I should ever disappear myself. I know it’s unlikely, but of course it has occurred to me. The last time I had my picture taken was in January 2008, back when my hair was still long.
You are so young, it´s nice to see you and MIchael. 🙂
I’m actually 24, but I’m pretty sure that with the right clothes, under the right circumstances, I could probably pass for twelve. (Note that in case my body ever turns up somewhere as a Jane Doe; LE will probably get the age wrong.)
That reminds me of the time my sister’s coworker complained she had the body of a twelve year old, and my sister replied “You sure don’t resemble *me* at twelve.” (let’s put it this way – me and my sister have both been taller than our mother since we were ten.)
24 is young, didn´t you start Charley Project long time agoi?
I had just turned seventeen when Jennifer Marra gave me the MPCCN. I was nineteen when I turned the MPCCN into the Charley Project.
Wow, you´re amazing. 🙂
No, I am just obsessed and have no life.
Not being obsessed and having a life has prevented me from running any sort of website or blog. I’ve always admired the people who could do several updates a day and all that. I lack the motivation to check all of my favorite websites every day. I tried running a website 7 years ago, when nobody showed up except one person who said it sucked, I quit after a week.
yeah, it´s easy to be obsessed with this, but you are doing a great work.
I think that it is lovely that you titled the pic “me and the light of my life”.
Everyone should have someone that brightens up their day and lights up their life.
Great photo – thanks for sharing.
I thought your long hair was pretty, but you look adorable with short! But where are the teeth? You and Michael are rockin the whole Mona Lisa thing. (Stern mother voice) Now missy, go get another picture taken and smile purty! 🙂
Smiles in portraits never look natural — smiles never do when you’re being told to smile.
My mom once told me she thought kids’ smiles in school pictures looked goofy. So the next school picture I had done is of me scowling.
I like how you are holding him….
Awww. You two look so comfortable and contented. You are so lucky.
Very sweet, Meaghan! Thanks for sharing!
Awwwwwwwww. You two are so sweet, that just totally made my day! I’m finally back online after having quite an argument with my PC, so some GOOD news was great to see. BTW, you say you have short hair, how short is it now? Kind of hard to tell cause it’s swept to the side.
It’s just long enough to cover my ears. I have it cut every month or so.
Yall would look real cute in some matching sweaters.
Here we go again, where is Emma?
I am here Kat!
Very sweet photo. You look like you would be very comforting to know, if that makes any sense…
LOVE IT!! Thanks for sharing, Meaghan:)
A little off topic but I was wondering if anyone had seen/read the new edition of People magazine, I saw it going through the checkout and it had a cover story featuring six recent missing persons. I should have bought it but I’m never sure about some mags anymore, they seem to have a lot of well known facts but no real useful coverage. Though I’m sure any and all exposure does wonders for a case. Hi Emma! Thought you might bail out on us! LOL.
Hi Kat, I had mentioned this mag before and you are right, there is not any new info…but at least missing people are getting more attention. Those who do not use this website and other missing people sites, can get basic info….if anything…
There was a show about Jaycee Dugard called Missing for 18 years on the discovery channel or something similar. Jaycee wasn’t shown on it, but it told her story.
Never! I love this blog too much..
Whoops- that was a reply for Kat, sorry. Confused myself with this reply system.
Oops, sorry Danielle, I didn’t see that but I did see the post about the show, it was on yesterday again but too late for me to see it. Yes, any and all attention is good, hopefully they lead to a better outcome. And on that note, Shaniya Davis, RIP, may the angels watch over you.
Yes, all attention is great even thru it´s what we know already, it brings attention to those missing persons, I hope that they will o storys of long term missing persons as well and missing adults.
Missing persons suspected to be human trafficking victims do need attention as well, the story of Shaniya Davis is so sad, it´s hard to understand that a mother could sell her own child to traffickers, but I´m glad she is found even thru the outcome is scary and horrifying, she´s a innocent little child.
If Shaniya’s mother was prostituting her five year old daughter, then she should have her face eaten off by rats.
and…they said on Nancy Grace tonight, Shaynia’s mom is pregnant right now.
What is the community to do with someone like that mom?
Is she really a “mom?” I don’t think so.
On NG they said the dad was to pick up the little girl that day so the mom had to think of a story to tell why the girl was missing.
Everything about this case goes against nature!
Among other things. I have a 20 month old and I cannot even comprehend doing something that terrible to an innocent child. I feel for the father, too, and the guilt he’ll have for the rest of his life for trying to be a good parent and let his child see her mother.
you’re right….nothing in the world can convince the father this was not his fault.
His sadness is genuine and his love for his daughter is true. That’s why he is hurting so badly.
A crack ho will do anythng for her next fix even if its selling her baby to oen of her own johns. Oh and they keep on making babys so they can get a bigger check. I hope they fry that ho.
that’s exactly what the “experts” say…she will do ANYTHING for a fix…
