This week’s featured missing person is David Clem Cook, a 55-year-old cattle rancher who disappeared from Amsterdam, Missouri. He had a second job at a power plant and left the power plant at 10:30 p.m. on November 18, 2008.
One of his ranch hands supposedly met with him the next morning and they checked on some cattle before parting ways, but the police are saying the ranch hand isn’t “wholly reliable” so his official date of disappearance is November 18, not November 19.
He’d be 67 today, if still alive. I doubt he is.

For general information. I have submitted a Freedom of Information request to the Fayetteville Police Department in Arkansas, to try and obtain the case report on Charles Christopher Dart. He disappeared from there sometime in March 2012. His pickup truck was found broken down and abandoned in Gulf County, Florida, on or about April 9, 2012. He then rented a 2012 Dodge Avenger sedan, from Enterprise Rent – A – Car, and never returned it. It has been listed as stolen.
It would be nice to know how he rented the car for. I checked and found that the closest Enterprise rental offices are in Panama City, which seems close to Gulf County. Their are four offices in Panama City, as of 2020.
When I called the Fayetteville Police Department, to get a few questions answered. I was wondering what branch of the military he was in. The Lt. believes he was in the U.S. Navy, from the tattoos he had. I was wondering when he rented the car.
I assumed that he may have driven into a body of water, since east of Gulf County is a major State of Florida Forest. It appears from a AAA road atlas that there were several bodies of water including the Intercoastal Waterway, and at least two rivers through the forest.
As I understand it both Fayetteville Police and the Golf County authorities seemed to think that’s what happened to him. It also appears from where his truck was found, that he may have been some sort of rush, since he abandoned the truck. The was no information on how old the truck was, and what was wrong with it.
However, it seems that he was taking the back roads, either to avoid being seen on the Interstates. But, then I prefer not to take certain expressways or tollways in the Chicagoland area unless necessary. I am also cheap and don’t like to pay tolls, and don’t have an I-pass.
The other assumption I had that he was possibly headed towards a location east of where his truck was found. It also was wondering what detail I could get trying to use Google Earth, to search those bodies of water. This is similar to the guy who found the car belonging to a missing person in a man made lake in Florida, recently.
So, I was wondering if anyone in the system wants to join in the search. I assume we can sort of crowdsource this case. I am open to any other thoughts or suggestions on any digital tools we can use.
I got the case report on Mr. Charles Dart. It has some interesting and confusing details. He was reported missing by a friend who last spoke with him on March 25, 2012. Also Mr. Dart most likely off his medications for his mental health issues. His friend said he was heading to Florida in regards to giving money to a family. But then when he rented the car he was heading for North Carolina in regards to another case involving molestation at Penn State. Off course these thoughts most likely connected to his mental health issues.
He supposedly rented the car from three days on May 3, 2012, in Panama City. However, it does not mention where his truck was found. However, it appears the transmission failed. His cell phone was cancelled due to lack of payment.
In 2018, the Fayetteville Police in Arkansas were contacted by the FLDE, in regards to seeking a set of fingerprints on Mr. Dart. It appears they had found an unidentified deceased male who appeared to match his description. Fayetteville did not have any fingerprints but they did have a DNA sample from a previous case report. It was submitted to NamUs. I assume it did not match the unidentified person.
The case report also mentioned a former girlfriend. Yet, it appears that Mr. Dart had been married to two different women. One of them was a number of years older then he was. The possible second wife moved to Louisiana
Also, Mr. Dart, and his assumed first wife had a business called McMaggie Enterprises that they operated from a house in Newport News, Virginia, sometime in 2000. The house was sold in 2005.
The report did not identify what branch of the military he served with. Which was one of my questions. I seemed to think it might be connected to his disappearance.

In regards to my own blog. I am somewhat busy at this time. I just spent several hours last night and today shoveling snow for a number of my neighbors. Also, I involved with certain things with my local church. I also volunteer at the Museum of Science & Industry at least one day a week.
In regards to Mr. Dart, it struck me that his vehicle was found broke down on April 9, 2012, and then rents a car on May 9th. It makes me wonder where he was in that time period. Was he hanging out at the beach, in a local non-VA hospital, surfing, Marlin fishing?
Also, at some point in time he was married to two different women. But, the case report refers to an ex-girlfriend.
Patrick, it’s not that difficult to sign up for your own blog, and then just copy and paste your entries of the case you mentioned here.
Also this blog site might be good to add your info; do a search to see if the have Mr. Dart listed there, or would be interested in adding it.

Mr. Dart’s info should be listed under his own entry. Maybe there is an entry for him in reddit. It’s just that Meaghan’s forum is about awareness and not about solving cases. Websleuths is more for that.
