I am happy to announce (and I’ve been wanting to announce this happy news for ages now) that in June I am going to CrimeCon in Austin, Texas! I am one of the speakers. My speaking time is Sunday, June 6 at 9:00 but I will be around on the other days too; Michael is coming with me and we’re going to set up an information booth and meet people and stuff.
I had always wanted to go to CrimeCon since I first heard of it, but I could never afford to go before, and last year’s event was canceled cause pandemic. This year, because I’m a speaker, it doesn’t cost me anything to attend.
I am sure I will have a blast and meet lots of cool people. Maybe some of them will be you guys.

Congrats! It’s good to know you’re considered an authority on your field to where you are an invited guest at something like that. Take pictures.
I definitely will take pics. The speaker lineup this year looks pretty good. Chris Hansen’s going to be there, the CrimeWatch guy. Gina DeJesus, the Cleveland kidnap survivor, will be there.
I’m hoping to attend. I didn’t even know we were having a CrimeCon.

Yeah the ticket prices are pretty high. Yet it’s popular, or was pre-pandemic. A few thousand people attended in 2019.
Maybe try showing up at the hotel bar after hours? You might find all the luminaries hanging out there WITHOUT having to pay the ticket price.
Nah. I’m not huge into meeting people, and yours is the only presentation I’d want to see. I’ll wait for your post about the experience. I hope you and Michael have a wonderful visit!

Laura, I’m glad you asked. I didn’t know Charley Project accepted donations so I just donated as well. I was so touched to hear what the podcasters has done to raise some funds for Charley Project. MeaghN’s efforts are inspiring!!
