Wedding pics just dropped!

I know you guys had asked to see some of the pics from my wedding, and they have finally arrived! Now, there are exactly 299 of them and I’m not going to post them all, but here’s some of the highlights.

Me and Dad going up the aisle:

Us all at the altar:

Michael sliding the ring on my finger:

Michael walking me down the aisle at the end:

Us leaving the church after I got rid of that scarf the priest made me wear:

Masks were required at the wedding for everyone (except the priest I guess, and also one lady in the back at the groom’s side) but once the ceremony was over and almost everyone had left the church we took some mask-less photos. So here you go:

Me and my bridesmaids:

Me alone, smiling at my bouquet:

Michael and I at the altar:

Us at the church door:

Us in silhouette so it looks romantic:

The photographer was Taylor Ford; look her up if you’re getting married in Ohio or Indiana and want her to take pictures. I think they turned out really well.

Excellent!! Your dress is beautiful and you were radiant!!

I love your bouquet, too – did you make them or did someone else? Either way, very unique.

2020 may have been a crappy year, but at least a couple good things happened, and it couldn’t have happened for a sweeter person than you, my dear. I’m sure Michael is happy finally to be Mr. Charley Project. 😉 I wish you many, many happy years to one!

Beautiful Meaghan!!! You were a stunning bride – love your dress – your hair, makeup, flowers all on point – and most of all it’s wonderful to see the love between you and your new husband ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you! My dress was only $250 and I absolutely loved it. I’m so pleased the dress and all the accessories I bought, the jewelry and bouquet and stuff, came together so well. I didn’t know for sure what they’d look like till the day of the wedding.

Your dress is STUNNING. Absolutely spectacular. I’m so glad you and Michael had a great day. Many congratulations and wishing you both all the very best.

You look beautiful Meaghan. I love your hair and makeup. Did you do it yourself? Congratulations to you!

    • Meaghan November 21, 2020 / 10:57 pm

Thank you! had a stylist do my hair. I can make that kind of braid myself but not so well as she did. My bridesmaids and I did the makeup ourselves.

Darn I forgot about the scarf Meaghan or shawl whatever it was, but it did blend nicely I honestly didn’t even notice. Man- good thing I never got married because my Priest would get a boot up his behind, where I live in Seattle we have all walks of life and it wouldn’t be an issue. I really thought you looked beautiful, the scarf wasn’t seen you were.

    • Meaghan November 21, 2020 / 11:27 pm

Yeah I don’t really know why he had a problem with it; it was a pretty conservative dress, at least I thought it was. I’m glad the scarf didn’t ruin the effect.

Just for general information. The priests at my church wear masks at all church events. They even wear a face shield when handing out communion.

The only time is doing the readings, and other stuff at the altar.

I agree with the comment about the scarf. I had no problem with your shoulders being exposed. However, he had some concerns.

I get a bit perturbed that some people in the summer time come to church in shorts and a tshirt. But, then I attended mass overseas during Desert Shield and Storm, in desert cammies and combat boots. But the mass was held in a warehouse.

    • Meaghan November 22, 2020 / 1:58 pm

Unfortunately the masking thing seems to have been left, in practice, up to the pastors of the individual churches. Despite the mask mandate in Ohio the members of my father’s church did not wear masks during services and when my father confronted the pastor (multiple times) about this, the pastor claimed there was nothing he could do. I call BS; it’s his church, he’s the leader, he gets to decide and he had clearly decided to let his congregation break the law. My father, being 75 and asthmatic with a history of heart disease, felt unsafe and eventually switched to a different church where everyone masks up. He had been attending the previous church for over 20 years and was sorry to leave it but felt he had no choice.

Thanks for sharing Meaghan! :)You make a beautiful bride and a stunning dress too!
Do you and Michael wear the same frame in eyeglasses?

For the comments about covering the shoulders – many houses of worship I’ve been in for various reasons (festivals, tours, worship) do follow with the rule of no bare shoulders out of respect. Some may also require head coverings. Or watch any season of Amazing Race, it may not be your belief or practice, but you are a guest in the temple/synagogue/church and it’s only temporary. Most of us have been having to wear masks much longer than a set time in a church.

    • Meaghan November 22, 2020 / 2:18 pm

Yeah we got matching glasses on purpose.

The no bare shoulders seems to be that particular priest’s individual preference as I know of many Catholic brides who got married bare shouldered in other Catholic churches. 🤷🏼‍♀️

      • Jenn December 2, 2020 / 3:43 pm

What’s so weird/funny is that the scarf thing was see through so… yeah. Lol

  19. Marilyn November 22, 2020 / 5:33 pm

We had a young woman from our church who got married in another area of Illinois. The priest when it came to communion, was walking up and down the pews.

Also, many attendees did not have masks on. Our pastor said that couples are shopping around to see what is available.

At a recent wedding I worked, the mother’s of the bride and groom had masks that identified them, the same for the bridesmaids, etc.

I thought it was interesting. I usually usher people to their seats, direct them up to communion, which includes hand spraying, and then directing them out.

Then wash and dry the chalice and assorted stuff the priest uses. I don’t do windows.

    • Meaghan November 22, 2020 / 10:21 pm

Yeah, when I was shopping online for wedding accessories I found a lot of fancy masks. Masks labeling members of the wedding party, masks with fancy lace or satin, with sequins and glitter and so on. But none would protect so well as N95s so that’s what Michael and I wore.

I insisted that everyone must mask up at the wedding. I did not want to be an asshat like that couple in Maine that had a superspreader wedding. Because of their wedding (no masks, no precautions at all), over a hundred people got coronavirus and something like half a dozen people DIED and NONE of the dead were even wedding attendees! They just had contact with people who did attend, and got the virus off those people.
