I was just writing up a case for the Charley Project when I discovered that the woman in question is friends with my cousin. Facebook friends, anyway.
That’s never happened before. I’m a bit creeped out to be honest.
I don’t think I’m going to ask my cousin about it. We were never close and I haven’t even seen or spoken to this cousin in years. I doubt they know anything about the case. They may not even know this person is missing. It’s not a high profile case and it was only recently reported although the woman disappeared over a year ago.
That’s a little weird.
I suppose it was bound to happen eventually. I have a large family and have researched and written up thousands of cases.
So judging by the years, he may have been the tenant immediately before you, too. That’s really something.
We sometimes run into interesting situations. In the early 1970’s. I was serving on a submarine and we were deployed to the Mediterranean Sea.
In port an Italian sailor asked a number of us guys where we were from. I said Chicago and another newer crewmember also said Chicago.
We got talking about where we went to high school. We then got around to the grammar schools we went since we were south siders.
Well, he mentioned the catholic school he went to. I then mentioned my catholic school. He then asked me if I knew a certain family. I said yes and he said that they were his cousins.
It’s a small world we live in.
I went to WVU in the early 90s, and for two years there, I lived in an apartment that was the attic of a big old house (built by one of the early University presidents, actually). It’s a very unique and quirky apartment. After graduation I moved to NC, and several years later there I went to a birthday party for a guy from upstate New York who we met in NC. A WVU game was on TV, and I got to talking to one of the party guests whom I hadn’t met before. Turns out he went to WVU for one year, in 1990. I asked him where he lived that year, and don’t you know…it was the same attic apartment in Morgantown. I still can’t believe that happened.
So judging by the years, he may have been the tenant immediately before you, too. That’s really something.
If it is Rashell, they do/did know her. She was reported missing a year ago but it has been difficult to get the word out.
It is her, yes.
A few years ago I wrote up a case of a man who turned out to be Facebook friends with a friend of mine from college. I asked my college friend what she knew about the case and it turned out she had no idea he was missing at all and became extremely upset. This was why I had not wanted to approach my cousin about this.
I have 3 missing persons amongst my cousins, all of them went missing as a consequence of “yugoslavia” break up war in 90s.and probably, we will never know where their bodies are and anything related to it. so….
Lukrecija, I’m so sorry. What a terrible thing it is for something like that to happen.
Off topic but I wanted to let you know:
There an error in the Bradley Stacener post. read here:
“the car as (sic) found abandoned”
…just a small error but I actually paid attention and saw it this time.
I apologize for exerting my English degree on everyone.
I’ll fix it, thanks.
I make a lot of typos. I like it when people point them out, so I can correct them.
I’ve come across a handful of cases on here where I’ve had mutual friends with the people who disappeared. I’ve personally known people who disappeared as well only to pop up sometime later.
You have/had mutual friends with multiple persons listed on Charley Project? What are the odds?
I mean, it would depend on how many friends they had, and what sort of people they were. Some types of people are more likely to disappear than others.
