I thought I’d be done with this wretched format update by now and able to return to normal activity but I got sick. I’m not sure what was wrong and I think I’m getting better but still feel pretty bad.
For three days I was unable to keep anything down and lay in bed moaning sipping water and bringing it up again. All I could do was play on my phone and watch TV. Then the nausea seemed to pass but I was so weak from dehydration and malnutrition that it was difficult to walk even. I started the refeeding process with the standard “after you’ve had a tummy sickness” foods such as bananas, applesauce etc.
Then yesterday I felt almost okay and so I ate some spaghetti. I tried to go to my computer and work. I wrote a few blog entries and I did about 200 cases (out of 1500 to go) and then had to stop. My stomach didn’t like my meal and I felt nauseous again and shaky and extremely tired. I returned to bed and slept the rest of the day.
I got up today and have gone back to my desk. I ate some more spaghetti and my stomach accepted it this time but I still don’t feel well. Very shaky. Even harnessing the dog and taking her into the yard to pee makes me feel tired. But I must get this format update done.
I’m on page 622 of 674 pages of cases. At twenty cases per page I have 1,040 cases left to change to the new format.
That’s the pits. 😦 I’ve had stomach problems for a week now. Came out of no where. Doctor couldn’t pinpoint what’s wrong with me. I’m praying it goes away soon so I can return to the land of the living.
I have a long history of digestive issues some of which turned out to be hormonal in origin.
My doc told me the strain that’s going around here can last a week! Mine was something else but geez. A week is torture.
Please rest Meaghan, maybe a few days of just sleep and siping on diluted power aid might do the trick. Have you tried any probiotics with your GI issues?
Praying for you!
Susan
I hate it when someone beats me. I was thinking of probiotics myself. A number of years ago, I had to eat plain yogurt. I did not care for the taste. So I got chewable tablets at the vitamin store. It also provided more active stuff then yogurt.
Also, you need to take it easy on the updates. There is plenty of time, to make the corrections.
Patrick, just look at it like great minds think alike! The more people we educate the better!
Please take it easy and get well soon! I am seriously stressed about my current exam work due to illness making me 3 days behind. I know I can ask for extensions already owing to my diagnosed health conditions/autism but I hate to do so. So I know to an extent how you feel.
That sounds horrid. Stomach issues are the worst.I hope you feel better soon. Don’t be hard on yourself, everybody gets sick sometimes. Maybe if you take it easy for a bit, you’ll be able to recover sooner than later. Get well soon. 🙂
You may have mentioned this as I am too old and lazy to look, but did you have your gall bladder checked out? I have literally been nauseous since 2007 and last year and this year the attacks started. Had one at the end of July that incapacitated me for an entire day and had to call for an ambulance. Does it feel like your stomach is a washcloth that someone is constantly wringing?
Meaghan, yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah !
Thank you for the updates! I admire your work greatly.
Thank you MJ for your diagnosis. Now, what are your office hours, so when we can come by for a quick visit.
I hope you are doing well.
I’m a bit meh. I’m more energetic but still not feeling good. I have at least finished the stupid format change and am trying to get back on top of my caseload.
