Annnnd Facebook hates me again (and other news)

I guess Facebook tweaked their algorithms once more, because despite 16,708 likes and 16,911 follows (as of this writing) on Charley’s Facebook page, the post reach is minimal.

I know Facebook wants me to pay them money to “boost” my page, but I refuse. They already have all my data, after all, and have probably sold it to Russia many times over.

Anyone who follows the Charley Project on Facebook, you should probably select “see first” or you might not see anything at all. Mind you, “see first” only guarantees the first five posts each day showing up on your feed, and I often post more than five articles a day, so…

In other news, in light of Michael’s recent CHF diagnosis, he had a procedure done where they looked at his heart with a tiny camera to see if he needed a stent. He did not! His arteries are clear! It’s excellent news.

The computer is, of course, still in the shop. Because it was last in the shop less than 30 days ago, this considered a “warranty repair” so the $50-just-to-look-at-it fee is waived. I just have to cover whatever it is they do to fix it.

I miss updating but I’m doing well.

I wonder what is up with the Facebook algorithms? I’m not even going to pretend I understand them. I can point out that Facebook does sometimes seem to make getting anything done on there annoyingly difficult. I’m still there, but don’t go on like I used to.

That’s good news that Michael doesn’t need a stent. Congratulations to him and you! 🙂

Poor Orville. Glad to hear you’re doing good. Happy reading until Orville gets back. My laptop suddenly decided the same password I’ve used to login for the past 3 years was no longer right or acceptable for some weird unknown reason, so that was all fun and stuff. But at least it’s still working and all that(I feel like maybe I ought not to have mentioned that, I don’t want to jinx it.) 😀

Unfortunately, Facebook is how I mainly socialize these days. I would be desperately lonely without it.

That’s how I used to socialize, too. I used to be on there constantly. Seven days a week, several hours per day. I still go on and see what everyone is up to, but it’s only a couple times a week now. I didn’t do that consciously, like I was trying to cut back on Facebook or anything, it just sort of happened. For all it’s annoyances, Facebook used to keep me from being lonely back in the day, too, so I guess it does serve it’s purpose. 🙂

Algorithms hate everyone. YouTube was keeping an eye on videos labelled ‘kiss’. Which made me wonder about videos on Henry Kissinger.

George Orwell isn’t rolling in his grave. He fell out and ended up in Hell where the demons are all watching CCTV monitors.

Really glad to hear about Michael. My dad recently had some issues and it turned out to be valve regurgitation. I hope you guys are able to get some answers and he can get some relief.

Facebook is the worst. I just listened to the Behind the Bastards podcast about “Zuck” and he is even worse than I thought. Sadly, I still use it as it’s the main way I keep up with some family members.

I have made some awesome friends through Facebook, all of us bonding over our love of the same podcast, and I benefit greatly from it. But Facebook is a net drain on humanity at large.
