Orville’s on the fritz

Yeah, so this afternoon Orville failed to restart after a Windows update, by which I mean the screens are both black, the keyboard doesn’t seem to be working either, and I can’t even get a restart in Safe Mode.

I can’t think of anything else to do but drag him to the shop tomorrow. Perhaps nothing in particular is wrong. Perhaps Orville is just sulking and they can fix him in a jiffy, or perhaps it will be an intensive and expensive repair. I have no idea; computers mystify me.

It costs $50 for them to even look at it, and things go up from there. Money will be tight this month anyway, as my car insurance is due. Any donations towards the cost of the repair will be appreciated.

Oh no. Sounds like a big problem, I hope not! I googled it and the instructions are somewhat advanced but you need to reinsert your start up disc and do all this other crap 😦 that scares me, because you don’t want to lose data.

I dunno, last time this happened it turned out nothing much was wrong. *crosses fingers*

I think Orville is depressed and worn out with all the work he does. A little rest and maybe a visit to a warmer climate might help. It could be that he is suffering (SAD).

You do good (ethical, honest, moral) work Meaghan. Here’s $50 to ya.

Just for information a Jerry Lynn Burns (64) of Manchester, Iowa, has been arrested and charged in the stabbing death of Michelle Martinko (18) over 39 some years ago. She was found murdered in her family car in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

What interesting is that his first cousin Brian Burns is missing from Manchester, Iowa since 2013.
