MP of the week: Tamara Porrin

This week’s featured missing person is Tamara Dawn Porrin, a fifteen-year-old girl who disappeared from DuBois, Pennsylvania on November 22, 1986. Although she was at first written off as a runaway, and it’s possible that she DID run away, the passage of time indicates something bad might have happened to her.

If I remember right there was another female that disappeared in the Western part of Pennsylvania. The girl was living with her mother in one town. She went to visit her father in another town.

Her mother wanted her to ask dad for more alimony. She led to an argument with her dad and she left. She was never seen again. The problem I had was how she got from one town to the other

      The Alicia Markovich case.

Meaghan, that’s the one I was thinking of. It bothered me on how she travelled between Windber and Blairsville.

It appears that her father might have picked her up and may have driven her to Blairsville.

Also, a Dana Bailey of State College, PA, was murdered a month before she didappeared. Supposedly, her case is linked to Blairsville also.

Alicia, disappeared about five months after Tammy.

Meaghan, I am a regular visit to Iowa Cold Cases. I understand that Jody Ewing, the founder of the site is dealing with breast cancer. It might be something to pass along.

Meaghan, a Melinda McSwain, F/W, 46, was arrested by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation in connection with the kidnapping of Sabrina Leigh Long. There are no further details on the arrest. However, they are required to review all cold cases.

Hopefully, there will be more details coming forth as they provide more details. Melinda would have been 19 years at the time.

      Thanks for letting me know!

Once the current stage of the secret project I’m working on is over (after this weekend I’m done for another few months) I will resume normal work including Sabrina’s case.

Meaghan, I searched to see if their were more details on Melinda. On Reditt, someone posted that they may have been friends and also went to the same high school.

Also someone mentioned that the GBI, were looking at Melinda for something else, when the connection to Sabrina was made.

Hopefully, their will be more details coming out most likely next week.

Will, try to keep with her case.

You are such a tease! Can’t wait to hear what that secret project is.
Thank you by the way for this site.

Well this project is going to take a very long time, so I’m afraid you will have to wait.

Meaghan, nothing new on Sabrina Leigh Long’s case. I guess they are questioning Melinda, and hoping she will roll over on anyone else involved. If the authorities have more details, they most likely get warrants to arrest others or search some property.

Also, some guy in prison for killing his wife, decided to provide authorities information on where he buried her in exchange for an x-box.

Yeah I heard about that. He’s doing LWOP so an Xbox is about as good as he can get.

I’m dealing with an awful lip infection; I saw the dentist two days ago then bit my lip while my mouth was still numb and it’s all nasty now. Can’t eat, can barely drink or talk and feel pretty miserable.
