In honor of Pride Month I’m featuring a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer missing person every day for the month of June. Today’s case is Edmond Tillman, a fourteen-year-old boy who went missing from Manhattan on August 10, 2005. He is gay and had recently come out to his mother. He was supposedly dating someone older, and his case is classified as a runaway.
At this point, a full thirteen years later, I have to wonder if Edmond really did run away, or if did but he came to harm afterwards — perhaps trafficking. I also wonder if his coming-out to his mom was really as smooth as she says. A lot of LGBTQ teens run away because feel were rejected by their families.
I hope he turns up alive and well and happy, wherever he is.

His Mother Should Hire An Private Investigator…They have good insight and Could or May have the answers of what truly happened to her son that day
Why would he run away from home? He was happy and had Family support…Something is not right and I’m starting to think more likely he never ran away from home in the first place, but in fact was lured out of his home by a predator, It may have been one of men he was talking with and may still be living with an adult or group of adults in the local area that are facilitating his absence.
Sometimes the home situation is not as it appears. Because I believe he is living with adults who are covering up his absence, Not age appropriate friends.

I’m gonna start searching for him. I can’t just sit here and wait any longer, it’s too much for me not to do anything as I watch authorities do nothing. Something made him leave home. I hope his mother still lives in Brooklyn, so I can ask her for more information about her son’s life.
I did research the mom has criminal charges in a different state. I don’t think this is a runaway and I also don’t think him coming out went as smooth as claimed. Why hasn’t a private investigator been hired? Why has his other family members not made an effort to look for him? Can we see if he social security number has been used? Something is weird here

The circumstances don’t add up to me. How can a 15 year old disappear without a trace for this many years? There has so be some sort of paper trail. I was in contact with him at the time. I also don’t think anyone has been making an effort to look for him over these many years. He comes from a big family too.

Mainly rumors happened in the beginning I think the detectives have to interview all the family and friends again

People made accusations of older men seeing him. People made up stories about seeing him on the subway after his disappearance, but later admitted they lied. People have said his family knows more. People have said his friends know more. There’s been a lot of talk. I actually spoke to him the day he went missing, but I will leave it at that.

No, but what I found out from the Charley project is that he was having problems at school and coming home increasingly late

It makes me upset that knowing he has not been found yet

why do police believe that he may be in the east village of Manhattan? I believed they said West village. And also the police said there were sightings of him in the west village; sightings by whom? If I’m there, I’ll see what I can do.
He grew up on the east village on 9st. The west village has the gay village, which is where he went from time to time.

No I’m sure if he did he wouldn’t be still listed as a runaway. If God willing he is alive I hope he reads this and texts me. I always think about him

I don’t know him, I was born in 2004 and during that time I never met him. When I read the circumstances to his disappearance, it said he was dropped off at school by his mother to take a test to see if would transfer to the eighth grade

I’m gonna call the Nypd and see what they can tell me, because they still label him as runaway for this many years, but also that the circumstances don’t add up and this doesn’t seem as “runaway” to me.
This is what I don’t understand. How can a 14 year old disappear for this many years without making contact with family or friends for this long. Many believe he would call his family and be listed by endangered missing by now. Something is not right and there is more to his disappearance than it seems. The authorities say he is a runaway who does not want to come home or be found, but why say that? I don’t believe authorities really made an effort and searched for him in the first place.they say they’ve searched the west village roughly 10 times, but I don’t believe they have. they also believe he is living with friends in the local area, but we haven’t heard much of he actually is the truth or he is living with ” Associates that he only knows of”

It can be done. There was a recent Washington Post article about a 14yo who did just that, vanished and was gone for 20 years. She had run away. Google Crystal Haag.

If God willing he is alive, he needs to call his family or his friends to let them know where he is or if he is doing well.they also think he may have travelled to San Francisco, California. Why do authorities say that?
I’m calling the NYPD in a few weeks to find out more and I will try to find out the truth about what really happened because I believe they’ve never really searched for him in the first place
