In honor of Pride Month I’m featuring a lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or queer missing person every day for the month of June. Today’s case is Lisa Lynn Stone, a 51-year-old lesbian woman who disappeared from Dallas, Texas on June 4, 2010.
Lisa’s case was the subject of a 48 Hours episode, which I haven’t seen. Her friends suspect her partner of fifteen years, Sherry Henry, was involved in her case. One of Lisa’s friends caught Sherry throwing away “Stone’s most cherished belongings, including family photos, birth certificates, jewelry and family heirlooms” less than a month after Lisa was last seen, and less than two weeks after she was reported missing.
While that is certainly callous and suspicious behavior on Sherry’s part, there isn’t a whole lot of real evidence against her.
But if there had been evidence of a crime, whoever committed that crime had plenty of time to clean it up: Lisa wasn’t reported missing for 18 days, the police closed the missing persons investigation after five days without finding her, and it took some time for Lisa’s friends to persuade the cops to reopen the investigation.
It was certainly sloppy, lazy police work and I have to wonder if the cops were prejudiced against Lisa because she was a lesbian and because of the fact that she was a hoarder — animal welfare officials had to seize 26 cats from Sherry and Lisa’s home.
We may never find out what really happened.

geez, just sad poor lady, I hope that the pets didn’t eat her or something awful like that I mean the girlfriend who knows what she did to her. Poor animals this breaks my heart too.
Someone needs to contact “Cold Justice” (Oxygen Network) to have them investigate this case properly. It was mishandled from the very beginning.

I agree this stinks , and someone knows what happened , ppl don’t just disappear ……..
After watching an episode on OWN regarding I also believe That The Sherry woman did something to Lisa. I pray they solve this case
That’s it???? “We may never find out what really happened”. I am just astounded by the laws in the different states and how the police continue to investigate some disappearances wholeheartedly and others “not so much”. As Tammy Markle said “No one cared”. Dear God. There is more than enough evidence of foul play to keep investigating this cold case. Not so cold: Sherry Henry did it. This lovely woman deserves justice, she did NOT just “run away”.
At the very end of 48 Hours Maureen Maher asked Sherry “where do you think Lisa is?”. Sherry’s reply was I”I’m not gonna s.., “I,m not gonna speculate”. Before she said speculate it sounded like she was going to say the word ‘say’. Just curious if she almost slipped up!! I think she just might have!
Just watched 48 hours it’s obvious to me sherry has a large part in this disappearance unfortunately I think Lisa is dead-killed by Sherry. Police need to pull out all the stops to find the truth.
I’ve watched this 48hrs episode of the Lisa Stone dissaperance twice now and I’m no detective, her so called partner Sherry murdered this poor woman, plainly through greed, if Sherry is innocent why hasn’t or doesn’t want to find Lisa, she’s got some balls with her lies, at least her high school friends care

I went to school with Lisa, she was a couple of years ahead of me but we were friends, primarily because of drill team. She was so sweet to me, and always willing to put in time to help me.
She was a quiet spirit, soft spoken, and a great sense of humor. She could always manage to encourage me and make me smile. I have a hard time believing this is real at times. I wish they would find someone that would take interest and reopen the case. We need closure…
Sandi, I am Lisa’s neighbor. So much of the info that is out there us false. So much it is unbelievable to me. I am glad that you are still interested. I think of this every single day. I have evidence and have tried to get it out there. My husband tells me not to get involved because I could get hurt but I can’t believe it was dropped so fast. Thank you and if you know someone who can actually help let me know. Since you went to school with her you may know the truth about her ” friends” they messed it up so bad and lied so much my head is still spinning. Thanks again SS
I truly hope hope and pray this case gets solved and Lisa finally gets justice her story is heartbreaking someone knows what happened to her and where she is
