*Facepalm* *Headdesk*

Yeah, it just came to my attention that little La’Shyra Dotson, who disappeared one year and one week ago from Columbus, Ohio at the age of ELEVEN, is classified as a runaway by the NCMEC.

WHY? Why is a kid who had barely reached the double-digit years, and who has been missing for a full year, been written off as a runaway?

Even if she did run away, the chances that she’s been trafficked or is living in some other similarly horrid situation are very high. That poor girl.

I’ve gone and added her on to Charley. It’s the only thing I can do.

Presumed runaway cases drive me crazy anyways, like when it’s assumed due to the teen’s age and their cases aren’t followed as closely. What if it was actually foul play and they could have solid tips if they took the disappearance more seriously? But COME ON! An 11 year old? What!? She’s not even a teen yet. Unless a relative is hiding her away I don’t know where she’d go off to. I felt the same way in the Asha Degree case and she had a bag packed (assumbly). What evidence do they have that an 11 year old left voluntarily? My first thought would be abduction.

In my oppinion, missing children 14 should always be classified as endangered

I agree. What evidence do they have to support that classification. Also, I have a problem, with the lack of details in a lot of missing person cases. These departments need to ask some detailed questions, to fill in the basics of police report writing. If my supervisors saw these reports they would be kicked back to the officers to get more information. So, it was important to know where the answers. In my situation sometimes I had to read the patient’s medical and other records looking for answers.

Hey, I just sent an email with articles that have new info in 16 of your Florida MP cases, but am posting the links here too just in case.

The albums are imgur.com/a/EvTvt and imgur.com/a/x9140

Cases are Delia Baxter, Brenda Bridges, Leana (actually Learden) Burgess, Johnny Campbell, Lynn Chesser, Florence Coker, Stuart Collins, Mildred Cowley, James DiLorenzo, Huston Cozart, George Dudding, Susan Earls, Paul Egan, Elsie Elsinga, Patricia Ford, and Mary Zedalis. Hopefully you can get rid of that dreaded “Few details are available” in some of those case profiles.

The “presumed runaway” designation could also apply to Brittany Georgia Mitchell, an 11 year old girl missing from Orange, California since May 7, 2014. I live in the local area and there has been no update (at least, I don’t know of any updates) on her whereabouts, let alone any news coverage, since she first disappeared. Very unfortunate. There’s so much more that could be done to try to find her! Perhaps Brittany could be added to Charley in the near future?

Are you sure she’s still missing? She’s not on CDOJ.

I assumed she’s still missing because I have never heard anything to the contrary, whether she was found, came back on her own, was found deceased, or anything. Since she’s not listed on the CDOJ site, I can assume now that she was found, hopefully alive, and it just wasn’t reported for some unknown reason. It really should’ve been at least mentioned somewhere. Thanks for replying.

A lot of times when a missing person is found, the news doesn’t say so.

It could be worse. In 1983, cops labelled Mitchell Owens’ case as a runaway and he was FOUR. I do wonder if they wrote down his birth date incorrectly, though.

They also told his mom she should be happy she had one less mouth to feed. 😡
