Further progress report

I finished two more letters today. The casefiles with surnames starting with A, B, C, D, I, O, U, V, X, Y and Z and are all done.

Victims of the Green River Killer, Dahmer, and Bundy are all done.

I’ve also entered quite a few first names and did all the cases with those names somewhere in them. I remember doing that with Daniel, Dale, Jack, Joan and quite a few others. Also, the last name Smith is done.

I have relayed your requests to Preston for consideration. I haven’t actually talked to him in a couple of days though.

I dearly wish this — fitting all the casefiles to the new design — was over already and am discouraged that it’s taking so long. I am itching to start updating again.

But I am moving as fast as I can. I worked on this for eleven hours today. I skipped lunch with Michael and his family, ordered pizza, and ate the leftovers at my desk. I ate leftover pizza for dinner.

I am neglecting reading, socializing, everything for this, just so it will get done faster.

Already I am seeing the advantages of this new database. I’ve got a spell check now, for instance, so there should be fewer embarrassing typos on the casefiles! (I also learned I had been spelling “Chrysler” wrong my entire life. I thought it was “Chrystler.” Whoops.)

Anyway. Carry on.

LOL Chrystler, vrs., Chrysler sounds like something I’d do as well. Keep up the good work, I am so excited and once again thanks so much.

And I was a spelling bee champion in middle school. *hangs head in shame*

I always have problems spelling definitely. For some reason I usually want to throw an ‘a’ in there aka ‘definately’.

You’ve been working really hard. Eleven hours is a long time. I always think breaks help me to recharge. Maybe you should take some time for going to dinner, or reading, or something similar. Just a thought. 🙂

What Sonya wrote – don’t overdo it. Make sure you take some time out to relax and chill. Your work on TCP is greatly appreciated but don’t drive yourself so hard that you make yourself ill!

Don’t worry too much about the name. It took me ages to learn how to spell ‘museum’ and ‘Renaissance’.

Hang in there. Take breaks. You’re doing a great thing. I was just thinking today how I always thought the word “chic” was actually the same word as “sheikh”, which meant very cultured and refined and expensive. It wasn’t until I was maybe in my late teens I discovered it was two totally different words.

I haven’t been to this site in at least 6 moths and I see that it’s changed dramatically. I’m really, really confused. All the Jan 2018 listings are people who disappeared in the early to mid 2000’s. Also the oldest missing persons listings 1940’s 50’s etc are not in chronological order.

    • Cheryl January 29, 2018 / 11:36 am

Six moths? Ha. I guess we are all guilty of typos, eh?

    • Meaghan January 29, 2018 / 11:37 am

      We are working on it.

    • Meaghan January 29, 2018 / 5:52 pm

I think all the January 2018 dates are gone now. Let me know if you find any I missed.

Wow. Just … WOW. I usually check the site out every month or so, but it’s probably been longer than that. You know, life. Anyway, FABULOUS new look!! I really like it. Very clean, easy to find. Meaghan, you’re yeoman’s work here, and I’m sure I can speak for a lot of people when I say THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HARD WORK!! I know it can’t be easy keeping up with new information, and getting everything into the new format too. But you’re a voice for those whose voice is missing. Keep up the great work!! And we’ll always keep searching …

You are doing a great job! Just one question though…i can’t seem to pull up the resolved cases. Will you still be updating those?

    • Meaghan January 31, 2018 / 4:22 pm

The resolved cases aren’t there yet but they will eventually return.
