When I first went to Hawaii, mid 90s, a local woman told me about Eddie Aikau. Amazing guy.

I have case from my area somewhat related that can be added on the 26th. He’s a missing swimmer. His sister came into my work a couple months ago and told me about his disappearance. I have her information if you need it to help build a case file.

Hi Meaghan, quick question. You have Maria Mendoza, 38, missing from East Palo Alto on April 11 2001 and Erica Mendoza, 18, missing from East Palo Alto on 2001. Were they mother and daughter? So far Google only comes up with separate missing listings if anything at all.

I have wondered myself whether they are related. I don’t know the answer — it’s certainly possible, by Mendoza is a common Hispanic surname and East Palo Alto has a 64% Hispanic population as of the last census.

Mark Bachelder was the son of our neighbors. We had beach houses next to each other when I was a kid. It always terrified me that someone’s child could disappear in an instant. I didn’t know until I was much older that it’s a much more common occurrence than I would have ever thought.
