Lakes

This list is of MPs who are believed to have drowned in lakes. There aren’t nearly so many people as those who disappeared from rivers and oceans, because lakes have (A) a confined space to search in and (B) little or nothing in the way of currents.

Heather Denise Strother disappeared after a boating accident on Lake Travis in August, 2005. So far as I know, her body was not recovered. I did some searches, but nothing came up. If she’s still missing, no one is talking about it. If she was found, nothing was said. Her parents held a memorial service for her later that month. In the obituary it’s mentioned that her body was not found.

Hi, my name is Brandi. I’m Heather Strother’s sister. You’re right, my sister was lost to Lake Travis on August 6, 2005. She has still not been found to this day. Unfortunately you’re right… no one is talking about it for some reason, and I think that really sucks. I miss her every single day, and have never been granted any real closure. Thank you though for bringing this up. Hopefully the word will get out more so that what happened to my sister that day isn’t just forgotten.

I know your Dad, Mark. He told me in an email what happened to Heather, and how he searched and searched Lake Travis. Maybe she’ll be found someday. Such things have happened. Sorry for your loss.

        Hi Brandi,
I worked with Heather at Astrotuf (next door neighbor). I still remember her great personality and how she had everything going her way. I hope you can find some closure someday. It still makes me sad missing her.
