Joan Risch disappeared 55 years ago today

I got an email from a reporter today about Joan Risch, asking if he could use one of my photos with attribution. It was only then that I realized this was the anniversary of her disappearance. I sort of forgot about it quickly, but I was just on Wikipedia and she’s on the front page today, in the “did you know” section:

joanrisch

(I realize these last few days I’ve posted a lot of images on my blog entries. I think this is just an anomaly and not the start of a trend though.)

It’s a most mysterious case, one that will probably never be solved.

This is iinteresting. I have been trying to get justice for Chalice Paul who has been missing for 35 years. I am glad this person is getting recognition after 55 years!

I hadn’t ever read her case in detail, And i normally never ever comment on blogs, but from the wikipedia description of the blood evidence does anyone think its possible she had a spontaneous miscarriage ? that could have been enough to lead to a psychotic break and alot of the sightings state she was cradling her stomach area at the time of her sightings?

That’s an interesting idea. I’d never thought of that.

I have long been fascinated by the Risch case. Her disappearance and that of Ron Tammen are the two I’d most like resolution to.

“Drivers also reported seeing a woman walking along the road where Route 128 was under construction later in the day. No one stopped to assist the unidentified female, who was reportedly bloody and appeared confused or dazed.”

…well, so much for the “good ol’ days” I guess.

Wikipedia lists her birthday as May 12, 1930, but you have it as August 4 1931. Do you know which one is accurate?
