Erica Parsons’s body found

A Charley Project Irregular who is also a Facebook friend messaged me within fifteen minutes of the news breaking: they’ve found the body of Erica Parsons. As of this writing, very little information has been made public, but we know that Sandy Parsons, Erica’s sorry excuse for an adoptive father, lead the police to her remains. Erica’s parents never reported her missing; her older brother did, twenty months after the last time he saw her.

I’ve blogged about Erica’s case several times, the last time in 2014. You can read the details of her dreadful home life and “morally bankrupt” parents on her Charley Project casefile. She was tiny: at thirteen years old she was less than four and a half feet tall. There’s reason to believe her growth was stunted due to malnutrition.

Both Sandy Parsons and Casey Parsons, Erica’s mother, are in prison right now for fraud, because they collected benefits from the government for Erica after she was no longer in their care.

When the cops identify whoever is responsible for Erica’s disappearance and death — and I think we all have a pretty good idea who did this — I can only hope they get the book thrown at them.

That poor child. I never believed her parents story. Over on cheri’s corner we have 8 pages on her case thread. I hope there is justice for her. Rest in peace Erica. Condolences to those who were good to her and to the community that searched for her.

I agree, it’s a horrible story. And all the more horrible that her parents were able to keep her disappearance a secret for so long.

I know this sounds odd but just earlier in the week while outside and feeding my dad’s dogs she came to my mind again. When that happens I tend to do a online search to see if there is any movement in the case.
Her adoptive brother Jamie was brave to come forward. Erica was failed by so many. But the local authorities kept driving forward. Her short life was nothing but barbaric by her beyond cruel adoptive parents.

It’s especially sad when you consider that Erica’s biological mother didn’t feel capable of raising a child and placed her for adoption so she could have a better life. And then this happens.

So happy they found her remains and justice will prevail. God bless the brother for reporting her even if it was 20 months later. My best friend who went missing 35 years ago that I have been campaigning for, Chalice Paul and her sister lied to the entire family and said she reported her missing but never did. She is a criminal too. Her name is Catherine Christine Murray for all of you out there. It is a shame a friend (meaning me) could of opened up an investigation 35 years ago because if they did then John Paul Sr. would not of shot Steven Carson 5 times, fled the country, got found and extradited back and serve only half his sentence to end up being involved with another missing woman, Colleen Wood. I am sure a lot of you have heard about her case? We pray for Erica Parson from earth to heaven. May the other lost soles up there give you guidance.

Is there a reason why she is not on Charley / DoeNetwork? I only found her page on Facebook and NAMPN

Just haven’t gotten to adding it. The Charley Project is a one-person operation and my work is never done.

oh my god. i didn’t think they’d ever find her. i’m so happy to think that that poor girl can finally go home to her mom.

Yeah, to her biological mother, who loved her and thought she was doing Erica a favor by placing her for adoption.

Erica’s adoptive mother could have done the right thing and turned her husband in but she didn’t. I wonder if she’ll be charged with being an accessory after the fact. I know that won’t bring Erica back but that would make sure that they can’t adopt anymore children.

From the case history, I’d say the mother was the primary abuser, not the father. Apparently Casey hated Erica because Erica’s biological mother was Casey’s own half-sister, and I guess Casey really hated her sister, and Erica looked like her or something.

Yeah but you’ve got to know that if he’s protecting her and vice versa then they’re both equally to blame for what happened to her.
Either way Erica didn’t deserve to have her life end like this. Only 13 years old with her entire life ahead of her.
