An ET entry and more little updates

I’ve got a double execution — a lynching exactly — that took place on this day in Quincy, Mississippi in 1893. Also, the following little updates:

I’m trying to remember the name of an old case. I think it was put in the resolved section a few years ago, but I’m pretty sure it was from 1985 or very close to it. It was an older lady who disappeared, I think this was in New York or Pennsylvania or another state in the northeast section. There was a note in her typewriter that suggested she voluntarily disappeared, but as it turned out, her husband had killed her, chopped her up and kept the remains hidden in a closet or basement or something. I think she was a college professor. Anyone remember this one?

Thank you Miguel, that’s the one.

I found a picture of the husband online. He looked creepy.

If you want to know what it feels like to be put to death, I believe you have to be the one who is losing your breath. Double means “two times infinity”- that’s math only God knows. It’s not like xerox- one life, double the copies and destroy. It’s two stories. If you want to unify them, the way is to ask what a Roman crucifixion is to a man who is from Heaven and not a human fertilization. That is something that has haunted my waking life blessedly for decades. Not the scene- what he felt.

The shock, ostracisation, horror, body fear pangs, abandonment, they pass. But I know from experience that being subjected to a trap slows time down and unspeakable feelings come. Then what? Death? Who can say what the inner being sees thru? Do they go on and up? Brick wall?

I’m glad someone remembers this to show that window of the lock to an apparent end of being. It is not the body flesh failure that troubles me- it is the violence toward the living. Some people live thru such an event and there is hope for the living.

Don’t let these get to our minds too much- the only thing to do here is to make good from a Pandorian puzzle, and that’s master’s level- it can really frustrate the brain to think of others. The victims seem to say to me, “Live.”
