Seeing them living, again

I’m working right now on purging runaway cases — and there are a TON of them that have to go — and saw Alishia Dachone Miller‘s case. She disappeared from Detroit in 1989, aged just thirteen, and she is, or was, classified as a runaway. Given how almost 30 years have passed, I don’t know whether the cops still find the runaway theory credible. Alishia is not on the NCMEC anymore, but I am pretty sure she’s still missing. (Not 100% sure though; let me know if she has in fact been found so I can remove her from Charley.)

Anyway, I Googled Alishia’s name and found the following article from the Detroit Free Press, dated June 6, 1988 — six months before Alishia disappeared:

The age is slightly off — Alishia would have been twelve at that time of the accident, not thirteen — but I’m pretty sure this is her. Another article about this event gave details about the injuries the survivors sustained. Alishia got off relatively lightly, just bruised. Another child who was hit broke his hand; another had to be hospitalized overnight and was listed as being in “fair” condition with leg, arm and head injuries. And, of course, a thirteen-year-old boy died.

None of this is of any use as far as shedding any light on Alishia’s disappearance, but I find it interesting nevertheless.

The accident could explain the scar on Alishia’s lower back.

She must be one of those bad luck people, like Sonya Bradley (lupus, multiple sclerosis, brain tumor, mitral valve prolapse, one of her children in a near fatal car-wreck the day of her disappearance). OR Joyce Crider (was getting a divorce, home and all its contents destroyed in a home explosion, facing several lawsuits, sudden death of dog, husband’s car totaled due to fire, suicidal because of these things).

Don’t forget to add “finances being crippled from medical expenses” to Sonya’s pile of rotten luck.

I actually found something Joyce Crider wrote on the internet from before she disappeared. It was a customer review of either a medical device, I think, though I don’t remember much about it and I can’t find it again now. I think she said something about having been in a wheelchair for awhile.

I wonder if Troy Bohne Jr has a profile in Charley Project? Couldn´t find one. He went missing in 2009 from Comal County, Texas.

Even in ’89 Detroit was at it’s severe downfall. I predict a kidnapping and/or murder more than anything else.

This is one of Alishia’s sisters. Yes she is still missing.

Thanks for the info! I’d love to hear from you at administrator@charleyproject.org if you have any additional information or pictures for me. Also check out projectjason.org which is a WONDERFUL nonprofit founded by a woman whose son disappeared, which provides both publicity AND acts as a support group for their loved ones. I can’t recommend Project Jason enough.

Hi this is one of Alishias other sisters. We have no more pictures as our grandparents home burned down years ago. No information. No closure. No anything.

        I’m sorry to hear that.
