Make-a-List Monday: Roadside stuff

This list is for MPs whose belongings — such as identification, purse, cell phone, etc. — turned up alongside the road after they disappeared. (I didn’t count cars though.) I actually did a list of this recently, but just for cell phones; I decided to expand on it.

This seems to me like a pretty good indication of foul play: either the MP was forcibly abducted from the roadside and dropped the items during the struggle, or whoever harmed them tossed the incriminating things out their car window. I mean, no one just voluntarily leaves their wallet or their phone in such a place in an ordinary situation.

The part of Ohio where I’m from used to be pretty much all swamp. They drained the swamps by digging ditches. There are ditches pretty much everywhere, on both sides of the road. They fill with stagnant water sometimes, or the grass in them grows knee-high. If someone threw something out the window, there’s a good chance that it wouldn’t get found for months or years, or maybe never.

Also Evelyn Hartley’s underwear. Evidence of very foul play.

Two things real quick…one, I’m not sure if anyone else has posted this, but OT, Shannan Gilbert’s mother was killed by her sister…odd, yes, and I think there is someone on here still missing and related to her case…if not, sorry……………

Also, are you counting strict roadside here? Because I can think of a few cases where things were found in parking lots, like Jodi Huisentruit. Or just discarded belongings? That might be a whole other list…….

Wasn’t someone’s camera found by the roadside with pictures? I can’t even remember if it was a victim or a perpetrator… Or if it was even found by the road.

On the Ruth’s Boys Facebook page the administrator looked into it and it wasn’t them. 😟
Too bad…I was really hoping it was.

I know, I’m being a pain. But in the Samantha Burns case, is one of the perps Chadwick or ChadRick. I’m finding the latter in looking for court updates. Changed his name perhaps? Since he said he felt bad and led a unsuccessful search for her body…….ya never know.

It’s not necessarily a sign of foul play if their belongings were left on the side of the road. They could have left them there voluntarily for some reason. For example, Diane Schuler left her cell phone on the side of the road before getting into her wrong-way crash.

Good point. Very few indications of foul play have no reasonable innocent explanation — you generally need something like blood and bullet casings, or a witness.
