Select It Sunday: Miriam Cavallo

Chosen by Jaclyn: Miriam A. Cavallo, who disappeared from Los Angeles, California on November 23, 1983. She was 19 at the time and was a high school classmate of a friend of Jaclyn’s, apparently.

Other than the area she disappeared from — Victory Boulevard and Topanga Avenue — and the time — 11:30 p.m. — I’ve got exactly zilch on Miriam’s disappearance. Nothing. Nada.

I would love it if a family member or someone else who knew her would reach out to me, either by email at or in the comments on this blog.

If she is alive, Miriam Cavallo would be 51 today.

I’m wondering if reporting agencies haven’t caught up with social media. I checked on FB, and the very first (there’s more than one) ‘Miriam Cavallo’ I clicked on seems to be a lady abut the correct age. (Not saying she’s the one – I have no way to check….)

Does Jaclyn have anything new to add?

Hi, my name is Trish and Mimi was my best friend and roommate at the time of her disappearance. I have searched and searched and have never forgotten about her over the years. Recently I’ve begun to really try to find out what happened to her and have noticed some things I never noticed before, one being the fact that the location she was last seen is wrong. Being that there are only like five known details, it is incredibly frustrating that at least one of them is inaccurate. I am currently in discussions with the detective who has her case, he has thousands, so it is slow going getting information. I would love to hear from anyone who may have any information.

    Hello Trish,
It is truly a relief to know you’re eager to discuss Miriam’s disappearance. I know you posted this comment in 2017 but if you’re still interested I want to invite you to talk freely about Miriam on
On Websleuths we discuss cases like Miriam’s and a little insight on her disappearance is definitely appreciated. I have so many questions but instead of overwhelming you I hope you’ll join us. Many people care about Miriam Cavallo despite never knowing her. I for one wish there were more pictures of her. I have even checked on to no avail.
Thank you for taking the time out to show how much you care about your friend.
    Kind regards,
    Sister Grimm
