MP of the week: Allen Briscoe Jr.

This week’s featured missing person is Allen Briscoe, a Bartram High School student who disappeared from Philadelphia on December 13, 1985. (I was two months and eight days old at the time.) I don’t have a whole lot on Allen, other than it doesn’t look like he was a runaway. And a curious thing: Christine Green, another Bartram student, also disappeared earlier in 1985 and she was never located. I don’t know that there’s any hard evidence that these cases are related, but it does seem very odd that two students in the same high school would vanish without a trace in the same year.

I can’t find anything recent online about either of them.

If the last photo of him was recent, he looks really young to be 16. Maybe someone else thought he was younger?

      I’m guessing it’s a school portrait.

Saw an article today saying that in all likelihood (pending forensics) Megan (?) DiPiazza has been found deceased.

See my mind runs wild… I am thinking “Did HE Get Christine Pregnant? Was she the girl he was going to see when he disappeared?”

I agree it is very odd that 2 students – same age – disappear within months of each other… Very frustrating no doubt.

I read in an article that some woman contacted police at one point – convinced her boyfriend was Allen – based of the age progression photo she saw… but the man refused to cooperate with police because he had a criminal history. Makes you wonder.

I’m originally from Easton, PA (about four hours from Philadelphia; I’ve lived in Florida since 2005), but I was born in 1988. So I only found out about these cases a few years ago. Anyway, in all the times I’ve looked at the scant info available on Christine and Allen, it never occurred to me that Allen could have fathered Christine’s child (if she was pregnant). Since they went to the same school and were the same age, there’s a good possibility that they could have known one another. I wonder if they were friends or hung around with some of the same people. If so, perhaps some of those people were involved in the disappearances.

I don’t know how big Bartram was in the mid-eighties but it’s got about 1,000 students now. If it was the same size back then, there’d be about 250 in each grade so Allen and Christine would have known each other by sight if nothing else.
