Ya know, it would be nice if they said when this guy went missing

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency makes it look like James Aaron Toole disappeared on October 20, 2014. At least, that’s the “date issued” they give, and that’s the only dated listed in his casefile on there. In fact, Toole disappeared in 1995, a full nineteen years earlier.

Hi there, I do not know where else to leave this comment. This is about a Russian sailor who disappeared in Florida, Mr. Yventyev.
First, his birth city is spelled Chelyabinsk, not Chedabinsk.
Second, you mentioned an alternative spelling of his middle name. This spelling is most certainly a mistake probably resulting from someone misreading his long hand writing. His middle name is actually his patronimic name (the name of his father, Victor), so it is Victorovich. It cannot possibly morph into Vicoroviah or anything else, unless you are writing it in fast long hand.
I am sure these corrections will not lead to finding him (his body), but letting you know just in case………..

Yeah, I know Victorovich is a patronymic. I’m just going by what the NCIS told me. I’ll make the correction about his hometown, thanks.

If the Gods allow it, one day his vehicle & remains will either be located down a steep revine or in a body of water, between Alabama & where his siblings lived in Florida. 😦

Yes thank you for your comment. Finding his body would be wonderful but I would like to know what happened to him.

I understand your need for answers, Ashley & I meant no disrespect in regards to your granddad & his case whatsoever. Considering all the law enforcement laziness I’ve heard & read about in missing persons cases over the past 11 years, your above comment sadly speaks truth not only about his case, but so many others. I hope & pray you one day get answers as well.

Thanks for the interest in my Grandfather’s missing person case. The reason they have that date is bc that’s the date he was added to their system. And I had that done. We are getting NO help from the Sheriffs office. It took me years to get him added to that system, something the local Sheriffs office should/could have had done within days…I am at my wits ends at what to do. Thank you thinking and looking into his case.

Thanks. It is very difficult to be a dead end for so many years. And even more difficult bc we have no help from local law officials. They should be the ones working so hard on his case. It’s been over a year since anyone from the sheriffs office has called or email me. Thank you for the comments on his case. Even the least bit counts. We need to get his story and others like his out in the open.
      Thanks.

I am a former detective with the Veterans Administration Police in Chicago, Illinois. I was wondering if James Toole, ever used any of his veterans benefits. Also, I am surprised that his family would not know his military background.

However, a verifed family member can obtain a copy of his discharge through the National Personnel Records Center, in Saint Louis, Missouri. You need to obtain a government form. One way is to contact your l ocal U.S. congressman. They should have a staff member who could help with veteran issues.

If I can be of assistance please contact me, at the email below.

I did some further research on his disappearance. True Crime Diva has it that he had recent eye surgery, and was not supposed to dive at night. Also he was separated from his wife.

I was able to email his family. They seem to believe that he never made it out of Dothan, Alabama. A search of a local river turned up someone else’s car. But, the group that did the search was not invited back by the sheriff department. They don’t seem to care for their efforts for results.
