Sally Lou Ritz, who was Judge Joseph Crater’s girlfriend, has been located. She had been missing since 1930. It turns out she was alive for 70 years afterwards and actually passed away in 2000, at around 92 years old.

DoeNetwork updated yesterday with the news, although they haven’t included any more information. http://www.doenetwork.org/update.html

I wonder why she ran away? I wonder if she was scared of someone or knew something about Crater’s disappearance/murder. Sadly, we’ll probably never know.

That is the most bizarre thing I’ve heard in a while. Not a hoax? She must have had some great stories to tell. Too bad we’ll never get to hear them. Also, someone posted on here about a family of four from Alaska who went missing last year, I saw an article today saying they’ve been found, at least tentatively, pending ids (as in, not good). Don’t know if that is true or not either. I say good luck with the speech today too, Meaghan!

I saw a report several years ago that Ritz was never missing at all. After Crater’s disappearance, she left New York and returned to her native Ohio. She was interviewed about Crater as late as 1937.

I vaguely remember something about that, but I also seem to remember some doubt as to whether it was really her? I don’t recall so well. I’d love to know more details about this lady who died, it would make a heck of a story.

Off Topic: OMG Robert Durst may be connected to the disappearance of Lynne Shulze! She was last seen at a bus station across the street of a health food store that Robert and Kathleen Durst owned and operated! This was in Middlebury, Vermont. I look back on this profile every now and then because it stated that Schulz thought about faking her death and starting over again somewhere else.
