I’m not too surprised that they are all women, and that a lot of them are from decades back.

Thankfully, the times have changed a bit. Women today realize that getting married, having kids, etc isn’t a requirement.

I read somewhere that at some point during the fifties or sixties or maybe the early seventies, the US had the highest rate of child marriages in the western world. Loads of people, mainly girls, were getting married at 14 to 17 years of age.

There was nothing else to do! Opportunities were limited then, especially when you had older generations pushing that as the only option. Things have changed though. Now, the rest of the world (or at least certain areas) just need to catch up!

With Rocia Sperry it was so she could escape an abusive foster situation and get out of the foster system entirely, and I appreciate that being on her profile so I can completely understand why she’d be married so young. I’m also happy about the fact that her husband and daughter finally had a resolution to their nightmare. I do wonder if a significant percentage of these girls also had to escape an abusive home life as well.

The poor Wilhite family, though. The mother goes missing, the father dies in a car crash two years later, and one of the two daughters dies of leukemia soon after. I really hope the lone surviving daughter is living the kind of life you and I would be jealous of because she sure as hell deserves it.

Seventeen-year-old Angel Wilson, who appears not to be on Charley, was married when she went missing back in 2007. There isn’t much information about her other than this one article and her missing case appears to of been labeled as that of an endangered runaway, since during the time before her marriage she frequently would runaway from her father’s home. Hmm.

Totally off topic. and I’m not sure if Meaghan’s seen this or not, but did anyone else see that Robert Durst has his own tv show? I assume it is documentary style or some such, but I think it is on HBO, which I do not get. I go to a site where ppl. can talk about shows and is heavy on the snark (awesome!) but I cannot wrap my head around this one and it makes me sick to see that ppl. are into this and have not a clue what this guy is/was capable of (allegedly, don’t need to get sued). If anyone on here has seen it, could you post and give a take? I find the whole thing appalling.

Thanks, HennyLee. That was an interesting article. Not surprised they are looking hard at him, they need all they can get if ever there is to be a conviction. Better be hard core evidence this time though, because he’ll walk again otherwise. I doubt Kathie will ever be found. Should be interesting to see how this pans out, I don’t know who in the world thought it was a good idea to put this guy on tv…….and am I the only one creeped out by his eyes? No irises, just black. Freaks me out.

Susan Renee Riedling’s NamUs profile has been removed from their site. Anyone heard if she was located?
