Interesting new list… I recognize a few names.

Ashley Freeman (& Lauria Bible)… If there is a missing persons case to be solved, that is it.

Agreed completely. I think if they did crack the case it’d be like when they finally found out who Caledonia Jane Doe or Suzanne Sevakis were. I can’t help but wonder if local police obstruction is going to end up hindering the investigation until the real perpetrators are all old and gray, though. It didn’t appear that the police liked the Freemans at all.

You missied Nadine O’Dell. She was wearing her boyfriend’s HS ring on a chain.

    … and I missie-spelled “missed” LOL.

I can’t really help it but my petty emotions and some deep-seated emotional complexes mean I don’t feel any sympathy for Sarah Bushland’s situation at all. I do for the rest, though, and most of the others gave me a sickened feeling at the pit of my stomach.

It would be wonderful to find out whatever truly haopened to Mary Shotwell Little, just like it would be for any of the other missing persons’ cases from that far back. I also wonder why investigators suspect Porschette Evans is now homeless, given that she’s deaf and likely a target for some monster out there. Though maybe I’m being too pessimistic here and she is homeless, and I wonder if she’d be more likely to accept help from a Catholic charity given she was last seen wearing something I would only associate with Catholics, i.e. a Virgin of Guadalupe charm thingy on a necklace.

Wait, what? You don’t feel any sympathy for a 15 year old girl who went missing and was probably being taken advantage of by her 21 year old boyfriend (and possibly a variety of other 20-somethings)?

      • Diane February 16, 2015 / 4:53 pm

Like I said, my emotions here are based on some very old insecurities and bitter jealousies, i.e. my brain can’t help but think that at least she WAS getting all this attention from all these guys who weren’t that much terribly older than her (I’d feel disgust regardless if the men were in their thirties or older). I still have a lot of issues about not even being acknowledged by the opposite sex until I was 18 and a prospective college freshman, plus when you add the fact that I saw this post around Valentine’s Day, a day that more than any other signifies a lot of heartache and disappointment, I couldn’t help BUT feel what I feel when I read about that case. It’d be akin to hearing about a very fertile couple when you’re a couple facing years and years of struggles with infertility.

The others I did feel 100% sorry for, by the way.

    • Angie February 20, 2015 / 3:47 pm

Ummm ok, I didn’t get acknowledged by guys until college either (NOT uncommon at all BTW), and I still think that’s messed up. IDK about you, but teenage girls hanging out with “young men in their twenties” sends up a huge red flag for me that this wasn’t just friendship or a normal romantic relationship.

And anyway, even putting that aside, she went missing at age 15 and is probably dead. You’re complaining about all the stuff you missed out on in life, think of all the stuff she’s probably missed out on since 1996.

Kelly Dove’s case fits a profile…the woman working alone at a gas station who disappears during her shift. There’s one from western Mass. that I can’t remember the name of that’s a few decades old, and there’s another one from Florida, where they had a sketch of a guy, that I also can’t remember the name of. And there was one in Ohio I think where the girl was filling in for her sister, and went missing almost immediately after she showed up I think. I can only think of one guy, think it was from the 70’s. Sorry I can’t remember any of the names, only the circumstances. Maybe a topic for another make-a-list Monday.

  6. Sandra February 16, 2015 / 4:18 pm

The western Mass. case sounds like Lynn Burdick (also on this list, incidentally). The Florida case must be Deborah Poe.

Others I can think of: Jessica Heeringa from Michigan, Heidi Allen from New York, Yvonne Regler from Ohio, Cheryl Scherer from Missouri, Cheryl Kenney, also from Missouri (apparently disappeared shortly after closing up), Nancy Baird from Utah (presumed Bundy victim), Madeline Ponds from Mississippi, and Rebecca Reid from Oregon (a witnessed abduction).

    • B February 16, 2015 / 7:02 pm

Yes, thank you! Lynn Burdick was the name I couldn’t think of, her case is fairly well-known, I should’ve remembered it. The Poe case is a creepy one, that’s the one with the sketch. The Missouri cases I didn’t even think of, but should have.

The Sara Bushland/Crystal Soulier cases remind me of two teenage British girls who went missing in Blackpool, UK, Paige Chivers and Charlene Downes (a ring of older men sexually exploiting them supposedly). I was searching Paige Chivers on Google Images a couple years ago and that’s when I first saw Paige Valisa Johnson (who randomly appeared amongst the images of Paige Chivers), and this was first time I remember looking at Charley Project, so these girls will always be special to me.

  8. Mia February 18, 2015 / 3:40 pm

Glad to see Denise Pflum getting some attention. She’s from my hometown and there are a ton of rumors about her disappearance, but no concrete facts other than the location of her car.

  9. Cattt February 19, 2015 / 12:26 am

The crazy list! That’s so interesting that ppl run around with their class rings on. I have mine, but never wear it. Haven’t really worn it since like high school or every now and then after that.
