I decided to run Puerto Rican cases through the system and see what I could come up with. It’s a bit of a problem because of most of the articles being in Spanish, but I did study Spanish for a year in college, and it’s close enough to English so I can sort of read it anyway. And there’s always Google Translate.
Well, I came up with some interesting results: several teenage girls currently who had been listed as runaways on the NCMEC and on Charley are presumed victims of a suspected serial killer named Amílcar Matías Torres. Matías Torres is doing twenty years right now, but he hasn’t been charged in any unsolved disappearances or homicides; he’s only in jail for soliciting sex from young girls he met online. Nevertheless, the cops believe he might have had as many as seven victims.

My best friend from all my life was Stephanie Pineros grandmother, when Stephanie disappeared, this was a nightmare and my best friend Margarita Carmona who was her grandma never was the same person after that, she never celebrated any holidays after. I went to Puerto Rico seven month before Stephanie disappeared and spent some time with her , she was happy with us on my parents 50th anniversary she looks happy and a very good girl. I was for the last 8 years talking to Stephanie grandma and she was suffering everyday . Last year my best friend said to me… I don’t know what happen and is like my granddaughter just disappear on the air , no one said nothing , the police never have any information and every time I want to ask more, information they don’t listen because I’m just a grandma . She said to me one day, I’m going to stop eating so I can die . I live and new jersey and I used to call my friend at least 4 times a week . She stop eating and was in and out of the hospital because of bad nutrition she was very weak and confused. I told her one night when she call me late night please eat something you still young and maybe your granddaughter come back or give you a phone call don’t give up, and she said I’m tired. Stephanie’s grandmother died last month she give up, Stephanie was her first granddaughter and she was very close to her I know my best friend is in heaven and I miss talking to her . I want to find Stephanie one day and I want people to help me because every day I think about my friend who died from suffering and if someone knows something please call me this happen on November 2008 in Ceiba Puerto Rico. I really appreciate this info. When I googled her name, nothing useful came up. It is sad that there is nothing about this pretty girl online, I wish I could do something to know her whereabouts, this case is always on my mind.
