Make-a-List Monday: En route to Mexico

At Justin’s suggestion, a list of people who were headed to Mexico or about to head to Mexico when they vanished. It’s a very dangerous place but also the kind of default place for Americans who want to “get away from it all.” I don’t count abduction cases (family abductions or otherwise) where anyone who is abducted and believed to be in Mexico, or runaways who are believed to have gone to Mexico; I only mean cases where the person was en route to Mexico (or had already arrived) and planned to come back shortly. This is a longish list, though not nearly as long as it could have been. Putting “Mexico” in the search engine returned hundreds of results, many from people who disappeared from New Mexico or the Gulf of Mexico in Florida.

[I accidentally published two lists on the same day; I’ve removed the other. You’ll have to wait for that one.]

Two persons whom are not listed in Charley – Linda Ann Miller, and her boyfriend Cary Krystal from Marin County California went down to Guadalajara in 1973, and never returned. (Linda is in DoeNet, but Cary isn’t listed anywhere)

They were politically active and went down there to protest the Mexican government’s oppressive treatment of the Mexican farmers. Their hotel burned down and their remains were never found. (Or if they were found, the Mexican government never acknowledged it).

    Here’s Linda’s DoeNet page:

Thank you so much for taking the time to put together this list. Most of all for including my mother, Naziha Duela, on your list. My heart goes out to all the families. Please if anyone knows what to do, when the police in the US will no longer help, how to go about requesting the excavation of a body from semefo. Also for people who think their families may have gone missing in any state that borders Mexico remember to check semefos website (it’s very graphic, be advised) instead of just namus alone.
Also, if Cynthia Robisons’ (she disappeared a few days before my mom also from California in Stockton under suspicious circumstances) family is still looking please go on the site semefo.mx were you can make your own visual assessment with the unidentified body of one of the women who came in together on the morning of October 20,2007. The other woman that came in with her at the same time,I am now certain, is my mom. I have the news article from frontera about this incident. I contacted Stockton police department about the possibility of the body belonging to Cynthia and despite them being in agreement that it is most likely her when I inquired again about her the following week I was told the case was old and closed and there was nothing I could do about it. ?! Please if anyone can help me with some information on how to bring these two U.S women back to California from there my little sisters and I would be greatful the police won’t help so I pray at least Cynthia’s family can find out. Thank you . God bless all the families suffering from this, never give up.
