Okay, so I lied

I had a change in plans yesterday and didn’t come home at all, but spent the night at my father’s house instead. I still feel rather awful. But I did come home today and began writing updates, and took a break from that to write this. So you won’t have to wait much longer, God willing.

In MP news:

The police conducted a search for the body of Yohanna Cyr, a Quebecois child who’s been missing since the seventies. (I wrote entries about her before here and here and her mother responded to the latter with a comment in French. Mom now lives in the U.S.) Unfortunately, this latest search turned up nothing.

The cops in Detroit are going to exhume some unidentified bodies to try to link them to missing persons cases. Good for them.

Arizona is apparently the state with the most MP cases per capita. That doesn’t surprise me. I wonder if that figure includes the migrants who disappeared crossing the border.

Fox executive Gavin Smith has been found in a shallow grave near the Angeles National Forest. He was murdered, obviously, and the cops say they know “how and why” but no one’s been charged. Yet.

Teen runaway Dajanae Harmon has turned up alive and well after two and a half years.

There’s this article about Andria Bailey that provides a LOT more details on her disappearance. Up until now it had been one of those horrible “few details are available” cases. Apparently the cops aren’t even sure what year she went missing, or the circumstances thereof, since her disappearance wasn’t reported for a decade-ish.

The Andria Bailey article links to the Harmon girl on the blog

      Whoops! I fixed it.

You must be a fake or scammer because i’ve left you 2 messages about someone missing on this site & you have never responded. I will report you to the BBB.& let everyone know your a scammer & this is a fake site.

    • Meaghan November 12, 2014 / 4:35 pm

If you left those messages recently, I haven’t checked Charley’s FB page in awhile. In which case I’ll get to them.

    • Lauren November 12, 2014 / 7:29 pm

OMG, really? Yes, all these cases are fake. These people have all actually been found but now we will hide them again so you find them. Enjoy!

I think I figured it out. Meaghan is actually a lizard person who personally made all these people disappear so she could start writing about them in 2004 so that, 10 years down the line in 2014, she could set up a fundraiser to trick us all into buying her a new computer so she can play Sims 4 all day!

See, I can prove it too. Komodo dragons grow up to 10 feet long. 10 is the same number of years Meaghan has spent on this fake site. If you multiply 10 by 100, you get 1,000 – which is the amount of money she needed to buy her NEW COMPUTER

Man, folks sure get cranky when Meaghan takes some time off.

Wait…what? Beyond a few people (hundreds? thousands?) who use this site and find it informative, the rest of the world probably doesn’t know it exists. So you will tell “everybody” that a site they’ve never heard of is a “fake”? How does that work?

    • Jaime November 13, 2014 / 12:48 am

Carole calm down just because doesn’t jump up at your first beck and call doesn’t make them a fake.

    • Peter Henderson Jr. November 13, 2014 / 9:42 am

Carole, what a strange and uninformed thing to say. More proof that in the age of twitter just about anyone will feel compelled to pontificate about a subject they know nothing about..

You’re an idiot…how are you going to report her to the Better Business Bureau if Charley Project is a nonprofit?

    • Vanessa November 13, 2014 / 5:02 pm

Carole, Charley Project is a nonprofit, not a business. Meaghan is not paid for her work. She is just one person and she puts a massive amount of time and effort into maintaining and updating the site. You are not entitled to her time and attention; she has a life and is not at your beck and call. You are just one of many hundreds if not thousands of people who have left comments and messages for her. I have found one comment you left on this blog, which was a recent comment on a very old post, was asking whether a missing person had mentioned you in her “stuff”, and wasn’t even addressed to Meaghan but to one of her commenters. Given all that, it’s hardly surprising you didn’t get a response.

This is indeed a REAL SITE. Several years ago a well meaning acquaintance of mine submitted the information of now adult daughter who was kidnapped abroad about 15 years ago without my knowledge. My ex somehow saw the photos and write up before I did and called me raising a million dollars worth of Hell demanding I put an end to it because true to what he was saying I was well aware of my child’s location.Furthermore due to her dual citizenship and exclusive use of non-American Passport she traveled freely between 3 countries on a regular basis under no obligations whatsoever to return to the United States. Hence she was no longer a missing person who needed to be found. When she was 15 I asked her info stop being shared because at 12 she’d declined to be reunited with me and had her wishes respected by law. Today she is 20 and remains abroad by choice.
This site is wonderful for parents still in the struggle though hoping someone somewhere will see their child’s face and say “Hey,I know where that kid is!” Whomever has taken the time to build and maintain this site should be commended not harassed.

Hi Meaghan, just out of curiosity are there any plans to add Bryce Laspisa to the Charley Project? His disappearance is over a year old now is totally bizarre!

  4. Jaime November 13, 2014 / 12:48 am

I meant just because someone doesn’t jump up at your first beck and call

  5. William Baraby November 13, 2014 / 10:34 am

Boy I sure hope your business goes way, way down after she reports you. I hope you dont get any new business and In fact, I hope your’e put out of business altogether.

    • Angie November 13, 2014 / 11:51 am

In what world is Charley Project a business? What exactly do you think she is selling? Information on missing persons?

      • Meaghan November 13, 2014 / 7:06 pm

He was being sarcastic I think.

      • William Baraby November 14, 2014 / 7:01 am

Yes, I was being sarcastic! Life is good. Maybe the poster has some important information about a case, so lets not chase him/her off. Could be young or elderly (impatient).

  6. Angie November 13, 2014 / 11:48 am

Does anyone else get nervous when it says there’s new resolved cases on the updates page? I always get a little suspense feeling wondering if one of the cases I’m following has been resolved (which actually happened once).

Man, people are going insane in the comments lately! CHILL OUT, EVERYONE.

  7. Janny November 13, 2014 / 3:49 pm

Glad you are back and hope you feel better sooner than soon. 99.999999999% of us know the value of your website. Thank you for getting the word out there and making it so much more possible for missing people to be found and/or identified. What you do is so invaluable to all. YOU ARE SO APPRECIATED!!

  8. vintage81 November 13, 2014 / 7:12 pm

LOL the crazies are out in full force in the comments lately…. Thanks for all you do Meghan!

  9. Evie November 16, 2014 / 1:39 am

Why isn’t Yohanna’s case on Charley?

    • Meaghan November 16, 2014 / 1:42 am

      Because she’s Canadian.
