Make-a-List Monday: Lunar Eclipses

Another contribution from Charley Project reader and contributor Jose. These people all disappeared during on the day of a lunar eclipse. (No, I don’t know how he figured this out.)

I’m a little confused here. When you say “disappeared during a lunar eclipes” it sounds like they vanished while the moon was actually eclipsed, but a lot of these people iirc, vanished in the daytime. Like “On the day of an expected eclipse.”

Yeah, “on the day of a lunar eclipse” would have been better.

Wow now this is the reason I love make a list Monday. You guys get so creative.

Not something I would have thought of, that’s for sure. Anyway, on Alicia Mae Sullivan’s case, when I click, she is still ALICE. Little hiccup there.

How about people with heterochromia iridis (different colored eyes)? One you have incorrectly listed. Desmond Dix is listed as having brown eyes; according to namus he’s got one brown eye and one gray one.

I found one person who was listed with multi-colored eyes on NamUs before and contacted the detective listed (that was back when NamUs would post the email addresses of the the detective) and asked him about it. It turned out to be an error. Sometimes they don’t catch that they had the left eye and right eye different colors when they post. Now if they said that the missing person had hetrochromia under “eye description” or “other distinctive physical characteristics”, then I’d accept it without question.

I remember seeing a photograph of a woman who had a very distinct sectoral heterochromia, where part of one iris is a different color from the rest of it Half of one iris was one color and half another. I always wondered what she put on her driver’s license. Does anyone know what people with heterochromia iridis have listed on their driver’s license?

So I know this was last year when you guys discussed Make A List Monday, but…Nyleen Marshall’s case really haunts me.
I’ve read as much as I can about her disappearance, plus I’ve seen the “Unsolved Mysteries” episode.

With the few details given, I believe that she is either dead or wound up in a similar situation to Jaycee Dugard…thankfully Jaycee was found after many years and is now trying to rebuild her life after what those monsters did to her.
Antoinette Cayedito (sorry if I misspelled her name) is another one that reminds me of Nyleen for some reason; seems like a pedophile might have abducted her.

In Nyleen’s case, I feel that the man who took her was responsible for writing the letter afterwards.
If by some chance she is still alive, she is probably brainwashed to such an extreme that she has no memory of the past. She probably doesn’t know her real name or where she came from, since she was only 4 years old at the time of her abduction. Nearly 32 years have passed since then. The man who wrote the letter (her alleged kidnapper) claimed to have traveled nearly all over the world with her and some people have claimed that they’ve spotted her in various places.
It is truly sad that her mother died without ever finding out what happened.

Also, it still creeps me out that two kids actually saw the possible abductor step out from behind the trees and approach Nyleen. He was obviously looking to snatch a kid and unfortunately, he succeeded.
I think he approached her instead of the other children because she was so little and didn’t sense the “stranger danger”. The other kids were a bit older and could most likely tell that this man had no business lurking in the woods, but maybe they didn’t realize what was about to happen. From what I saw on UM, he was able to lure her away easily…my mother constantly drilled it into me as a little girl that I should never wander off alone, esp. with a stranger. And as somebody who has suffered abuse, it is a rule that has stayed with me for decades.

I hope that someday Nyleen’s case will be solved and her remaining loved ones will have closure.
