Sean blogs about Connie Smith

Sean Munger has blogged about Constance “Connie” Smith, whose disappearance over sixty years ago is still notorious. What happened to her is anyone’s guess, though it probably wasn’t anything good. Connie’s disappearance was one of three featured in Michael Dooling’s book Clueless in New England.

It could be that someone hit her, panicked, tossed her in their car trunk, and dumped her elsewhere.

She had to have been killed one way or the other–she was old enough to know who she belonged to and too young to make it on her own.

This has always been such an interesting case to me. In the pictures where she’s smiling Connie resembles my 10 yo stepdaughter (or rather I should say my stepdaughter resembles her?). My SD has a personality that would get her into minor scuffles at camp, too. I wonder if we’ll ever know what happened to her. Connie along with Beverly Potts have always been probably the top 2 cases on Charley that I think about a lot. They just stick with me.

That reminds me, maybe this would make a good blog post, but if you could pick say 5 Charley cases and know, really KNOW, the answer to what happened to the MP, which 5 would you pick? Mine would be Connie, Beverly, Joan Risch, Michaela Garecht, and Johnny Gosch.

Mine would be Joan Risch, Ronald Tammen JR., the Lyon sisters, the Springfield Three, and the Fort Worth Three.

With a very few exceptions I can’t say I “know” what happened to any of them. But I’d bet the farm that Peter Kema and Adam Herrman’s respective parents killed them.

Oh, no doubt about that. I’d say the same about a few others on Charley, too. Some poor kids don’t have one soul in the world who loves them.

Meaghan I agree with your comments about Adam and Peter. So sad.

If you COULD find out what happened to any Charley entrants, which top 5 would you pick?

Crystal, I might have to squeeze the Fort Worth Three into my list too. Them and Stacie Madison/Susan Smalley. I lived a block away from the intersection where Stacie’s car was found. There’s something about the disappearances of multiple people at once that’s extra creepy…..

Wendy, I think Stacie and Susan must be dead. What do you think?

Sadly, I’d have to agree Crystal. I can’t imagine how awful it must be for their families, for all the Charley families, to just never know what happened to their loved ones.

It’s tough to pick just five Charley Project cases, isn’t it? There are so many I’m very curious about. Some of those have already been mentioned. So here are five I think of often that haven’t been… 1: Nyleen Kay Marshall. 2: Morgan Chauntel Nick. 3: Mary Shotwell Little. 4: Melissa Suzanne Highsmith. 5: Daniel Barter.
