Sean Munger does Eddie Aikau

Sean Munger’s blog now has a post about Edward Ryan “Eddie” Aikau, a Hawaiian surfer who disappeared in 1978.

Incidentally — I’ve got Eddie listed as Caucasian, but he probably wasn’t. But he wasn’t black or Asian either. I dunno. I don’t think I have a “Native Hawaiian” categorization.

I thought that too , but I think that refers more to those in Samoa or something. Native Hawaiian? Maybe?

Peter Kema’s racial heritage is probably typical for Hawaii; he’s of Native Hawaiian, Spanish, Chinese and Filipino descent. I wouldn’t be surprised if Eddie didn’t have a similar mix.

Oh dear. Well, not to be an ass once again, but doesn’t that rule out Caucasian a bit? As ID only, I mean.

I guess it depends on how they classify themselves…I’m sure someone with knowledge of the case would know….

Yeah, that was asinine….I meant with more IN DEPTH knowledge. Not just in general. Damn, I’ve had a foot in my mouth lately.

Shnapps!!!!!!!!!!!! I just read (and then reread what you wrote) Peter Kema vs Eddie. I give up. I’m losing my touch. What the hell is wrong with me! I didn’t read the first part of the reply. My bad.
