House of horrors in Cleveland

According to this article, anonymous police sources have said there were multiple pregnancies between the three girls, many miscarriages and five live births. Yet there is only one child…

This makes me sick. Literally, I felt nauseated when I found that out, and I’m rarely moved in that way even by the most violent of crimes. I’m hoping to God that’s either just a rumor or there were more kids running around the house that we just haven’t been told about yet.

horrifying! i suspected the child was the result of rape, just horrible. God knows if SHE was also abused. Fortunately, the kidnappers will also face justice in jail…we all know how well guys like that fare in prison.

I’ve heard from a bunch of sources that there were multiple children in the home, but I can’t find any confirmation.

As horrible as it sounds, it’s not out of the question that traffickers will sell infants and young children for various purposes.

I was pretty disgusted a few years back when some journalist in my state claimed that trafficking wasn’t a real issue in our region – either he lacked understanding of what trafficking can entail or he was being wilfully ignorant. Someone can trafficked in the community from where they were kidnapped, right under everyone’s noses.

I just heard a report about Ariel Castro’s daughter Arlene. She was the girl who was with Gina DeJesus before Gina disappeared, the one who borrowed 50 cents from Gina. Very suspicious!

So if Arlene’s father had offered Gina aride, she wouldn’t of been afraid to go with him? I know her profile says she was not ever supposed to get rides, not even from her uncles without permission, but kids don’t always listen, and Gina was already in hot water for smoking so maybe she thought she’d just go ahead and break another rule?

You’re misreading. Michelle Knight says she was pregnant five times and was beaten to a miscarriage each time. Amanda Berry’s child was the only baby born. Not that that’s some fantastic advance, but it’s slightly less horrifying than if it involved full-term infants.

It looks like they’ve updated/corrected the article, but when I read it it specifically said “five live births.”

Remember the eye witness who said they thought they saw Amanda get into a car containing THREE male occupants at about the time she went missing? If it WAS Amanda getting into the car, it really makes you wonder, doesn’t it? I mean, who could those three men possibly have been? What three men could all have been involved in this crime? That’s a really tough one. I have no idea. Do you? Crimes like this are usually commited by one man acting alone (for obvious reasons). So if these three were involved they must have been a very tight trio…

I heard they charged Ariel Castro’s two brothers in the case as well, but then let them go. That might explain the whole “three men” thing.

So, I guess you’re saying the police think it probably was Amanda getting into that car, and there probably were 3 men involved in her abduction? But they don’t have enough evidence to convict all of the men? I think that’s what you’re saying. I hope anyone who had anything to do with Amanda, Gina and Michelle being kept captive all that time ends up facing the justice they deserve. (Let me make it clear, I am NOT accusing any specific person or people of being involved in the abduction and/or false imprisonment of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight). By the way, I know it’s not important, but does Miss Knight’s Christian name have 1 L or 2? I keep seeing both spellings in different places.
