Another Tuesday

I haven’t updated but I did change my MP of the week. This week’s is Zachary Aylsworth. He was 22 when he disappeared in 2006: he was running from the cops and jumped into the Ohio River to evade them, and it looks like he never resurfaced.

The Ohio River’s current runs west and eventually connects with the Mississippi, which goes south down to the Gulf of Mexico and into the Atlantic. So, assuming Zachary drowned (a pretty good assumption), his body could have wound up almost anywhere.

I know I haven’t updated in centuries but I really just don’t feel like it right now. Stuff’s been going on in my personal life (nothing for y’all to worry about, mind) that has me all grumpy and out of sorts.

    That was easy. Thanks.

Ran from the cops, jumped into the Ohio River to get away. Doesn’t really sound like a big loss to the collective gene pool with this guy.

Bear in mind that there’s every chance in the world Zachary’s family or someone else who loved him will read this.

That is such a hopeful and necessary thing to say, Mickey. Just out of curiousity, where exactly are you stating that from, an ivory tower or a glass house?

      • Mickey A April 12, 2013 / 12:20 am

Ivory tower & glass house, oh so very witty. I have had plenty of bad days, I never have led the cops on a chase and then ended it by jumping into a river. Maybe you have, I haven’t.

I really couldn’t care less if you like what I said or not. People are responsible for their actions and because they have issues it doesn’t put them above criticism, especially if their actions are reckless and endanger others. There are too many people that have gone missing and/or were killed through no fault of their own, other than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I have little sympathy or patience for those that cause their own demise out of stupidity or reckless behavior.

Have some sympathy for his family, then; they’ve taken enough crap as is, I’m sure.

Sometimes we all get “out of sorts”…..Hope you feel better soon….I just want you to know that I have been following your website for a few years and appreciate all you do to get the names of the lost and missing out to the public.

Zachary looks 10 years older than he is. Running from the police most of the times just is not worth it

Hi there. I wanted to let you know, a year after you posted this, how much it means that someone else out there is watching. Zach was an amazing person; a gentle man; a much loved brother, son and friend. He never hurt anyone, abused drugs, or committed any crime; he was ill, and purposeful in his final act. That the police noticed his behavior and followed him with their dashcams on was both a blessing and a curse. His last moments were captured on film and mocked by the media ( Maury Povich, TruTv, we don’t appreciate the salt in our wounds) and on the internet (but thank you to the pp who considered he might have a grieving family). On the other hand, we were spared the pain of never knowing what happened, of having a loved one leave home and never be seen again. But even knowing to a statistical near-certainty that he did not survive, without a body there are sleepless nights like tonight, when I still search for him out there in case he made it, hoping. Thank you for remembering he’s still out there too.
