Recently I put up the MWAB case, a young man who was killed in 2010. (The trial is pending.) In the last paragraph I said, “His body has never been found. Authorities believe it was taken to a southern Indiana landfill with the rest of the trash, but they are no longer actively searching for him.”
Got an email just now from a Charley Project reader who pointed out that, although she was sure it was not my intention, my sentence implies that the young man’s remains were ALSO “trash.” And maybe I might want to change that.
She is quite right; the sentence does sound insensitive. I will re-write it.
