At long last, the protracted Rilya Wilson case is drawing to a close: closing arguments are today in the murder trial of her foster mom, Geralyn Graham. The defense is going for reasonable doubt. The prosecution’s case is weak.
We all know Geralyn Graham killed that little girl. But did they prove it? I really don’t know.
Damn…she got away with it. Poor Rilya. I hope justice finds a way to take care of that woman.
It doesn’t look like she quite got away with it. She got convicted of kidnapping and child abuse, and they could retry on the murder charge.
The Florida statute says aggravated child abuse carries a term of up to 15 years in prison, and kidnapping 30 years to life, with enhanced sentencing if the victim was under 13.
