Tis the season to be jolly and all that

My mom's Christmas tree
My mom’s Christmas tree

My first family Christmas celebration is winding up now. This is “just” the “immediate” family: my parents, my grandpa, my uncle, all of my siblings, my siblings’ wives (one didn’t show) and their children. Plus a girlfriend one nephew brought along. Counting me, 24 altogether. Next comes the “extended” family celebration on Christmas Eve, which will be attended by my cousins and their respective families in addition to most of the people present tonight.

I suppose it’s gone tolerably well. Certainly much better than my family’s Thanksgiving, which, for me, ended prematurely after one of my siblings began shouting obscenities in my face. (I shall not publicly divulge the details of that particular dustup, in order to protect the guilty.)

And here’s me today. I actually dressed up this year: sparkly minidress, bracelet, necklace (the only one I own) and dress shoes (ditto). I wore the same dress the night I met Elizabeth Smart.

I like your Mom’s tree. U sure do have alot of family around! I have no idea what that’s like. Are you the only female child? I hope it doesn’t end like it did on Thanksgiving and that you have a great time! Merry Christmas, Meaghan and everyone on Charley!

No, I’ve got one sister. My mother had seven children altogether, five boys and two girls. One brother was killed in a car accident back in the eighties.

Hi, love the Christmas tree and the interview! Not sure where to post this question… anything on Danny Barter; young boy missing for a long time. I read somewhere; cant remember where; that a doctor that lived near the family might be involved… this is one that is heartbreaking; like so many. Cheyenne

As I recall, dogs tracked Danny’s scent to the doctor’s residence, but because he was such a prominent member of the community the police didn’t lean hard on him. That’s all I remember. All the rest that I know is on Danny’s Charley Project casefile.

Hi Meaghan, sorry it has taken me so long to get back, been sick but doing much better. I thought it was the doctor… at least that is what I feel. I will reread Danny’s case… do you know or remember if they mentioned the doctors name??? I know, a long shot …. Happy New Year!!! Thanks for your time! Cheyenne

I don’t think his name was ever revealed, not that I saw.
