Yay, updated

I did an update for the first time in several days. Lately I’ve been determined to follow everyone’s advice and cool it a bit, not stress over Charley, update only when I want to, etc., to keep myself from burning out altogether.

Instead, I’ve been reading quite a bit these days. I have read eight books in the past three days: four novels, one humor/politics, one self-help book, one true crime book and one Holocaust book. Normally I never read self-help books, but this one I got from LibraryThing Early Reviewers, where they give you free books on the condition that you read them and write a review. I’ve won 37 books from them.

I see that. Have a question though. In the profile for Gerald Montrio, you say he was born in Bermuda which was a former Dutch colony. I haven’t had time to check but I believe that should be British.

Whoops, you’re right. I was thinking of Aruba. Will fix.

We went to Bermuda for our honeymoon. It is a beautiful place, with pink sand beaches. The people there are very nice, very friendly and very proud of their island.

Total random thought here, unrelated to the post…just got done reading an MSN article about how no one cares about Amir Jennings vs Caylee Anthony and JonBenet Ramsey…cause he’s black. Not that his mother did it (clearly), not that the case was resolved quickly, with the public feeling horror, but not the sensational, no details about the case itself, and certainly no mention of Charley, which has oodles of info. Gee, if you want to throw the lower class under the bus, let us start with Hayleigh Cummings…she was white and cute, but now all but forgotten too. And the myriad of kids on this site and others…why is everything now either about race, or about media coverage? Drives me nuts and I’ve clearly had a bad day. Finished rant, going to eat lunch.
