I have submitted it to Cute Overload. I have little hope that it will be posted — their standards are very high — but IMHO she’s cuter than any of my other previous submissions.

The other day I saw a “golden” retriever with bright flaming red hair, redder than mine. It was the reddest golden I’d ever seen in my life, and I did verify with the owner that it was in fact a golden retriever and not an Irish setter. Sadie is what I would call strawberry-blonde.

My parents also have a half-Laborador half-Husty mix named Kinsey (who somehow manages to be smaller than both breeds). She has characteristics of both: the flat black fur and friendly temperament of a lab, and the turned-up tail of a husky and half-perky ears as well (the kind that perk up and then fold down at the top). She has bright amber eyes which are her best feature.

We’ve had several previous dogs, including a collie, a Scottish Terrier, a Samoyed, two Newfoundlands, a Saint Bernard and a gorgeous Siberian Husky with ice-blue eyes whom I picked up off the road where she had been dumped. For like thirty years there has never been at least one dog in the house.

Until recently my parents also had my for my brother’s boxer, Daisy living with them, because he wasn’t in a position to take care of her in terms of either being able to house her or afford her food. He got her from a friend, but then lost his job and had to move in with one of our other brothers, who wouldn’t let him take the dog, so my parents housed her for about six months. She is an adorable, gentle animal, affectionate with everyone she meets, who loves to snuggle and is always like “Hello, I love you,” but Mom and Dad had trouble managing three dogs. They had to walk all three at once, since the left-behind dog would fuss otherwise. Daisy’s had two previous litters but has been spayed now. My brother put an ad on Craigslist last week, starting getting calls within hours, and found her a good home. The new owner is a guy just lost a boxer in March and he has three acres of land for Daisy to run around on. I’m glad. Daisy has had at least three previous owners, counting my parents, and deserves a good, permanent home. While staying in Mom’s house she peed on the floor a lot, I think out of anxiety, since she was house-trained before.

Awww. That is so cute, and I’m not even a dog person. Well, I’m an animal person, but I have cats. That pic sure does brighen the day though…..
