Finally finished MSHP cases

For the simple reason that I was tired of looking at them, the past two updates I’ve concentrated on clearing out all my Missouri State Highway Patrol case backlog. Well, the deed is done, and I discovered an interesting (possible) double murder-without-a-body in the 1986 case of Sherry Wrisinger and her teenage daughter Johnna. Sherry’s husband was charged with their murders in 2009, but the case was dropped less than a year later after a key witness died.

I also updated Etan Patz‘s case with still more photos of him. He was such an adorable kid. If they ever do find him I’d have a hard time deciding which pic to use in the resolved section, for each one is cuter than the last.

I’ve been following the latest events with some interest but my money is still on Jose Antonio Ramos. I found a more recent (2010) picture of Ramos and put it in Etan’s casefile. He looks pretty much the same as he did in his 1986 photo except that his hair is white now. He looks like Santa Claus. He comes up for release in November. *shudders*

I think this is their last chance to keep him from being let out of prison. I’m not holding their breath that they find anything b/c I seem to remember they have done searches just like this before with no results, but if they do find something it will let them keep Ramos in prison a while longer. He’s 68 now, if they can just hold him a few more years he stands a good chance of dying in there and they don’t have to worry about him hurting anybody else.

No, you’re mistaken. If they find Etan on this dig, that means Ramos didn’t do it. They’re concentrating on a totally different suspect at the moment.

Not necessarily. There’s one report from the Daily News that claims Ramos and the new person of interest (who’s been a POI from almost the very beginning), Othniel Miller, may have worked together on carpentry jobs. Another early NYT report, though it seems to have disappeared, claimed the basement that’s being dug up was “known as a place for sexual liasons”. And the statement that really put Ramos in LE’s crosshairs way back when was his answer to a fed’s point-blank question about how many times he had sex with Etan: “I guess you have a witness.”

Whether or not Patz’s remains are found, it’s pretty clear the basement should have been dug up years ago. But it was an expensive proposition and forensic technology is leagues better now than it was 33 years ago.

Even if Ramos didn’t kill Patz, I can’t imagine what good would it do to let him out on the streets again.

The Wrisingers are both listed as the same age, 40. Typo, I’m sure. Other than that, very interesting. Surprised that they haven’t come up before.

      Me too.

      Johnna is 16. Or was.

How does finding anything mean Ramos didn’t do it? He has told a fellow inmate he put Etan’s body in a giant furnace or boiler didn’t he?

    • Meaghan April 21, 2012 / 11:32 pm

They’re looking for a body in a carpenter’s workspace now — a supposedly buried body. The carpenter was another tenant in Etan’s apartment building. If Etan is buried in his workspace, that means the carpenter did it, not Ramos.

The theory for Ramos is that he incinerated the body.

What if the carpenter and Ramos were in cahoots to lure Etan to the basement?

Ramos has admitted to molesting Etan right? So how did the carpenter then get a hold of him? What a beautiful precious boy. I love all the pics Meghan has put up. I cannot imagine the torture his parents have been put through.

He didn’t exactly admit to molesting Etan. He got right up to that part and then refused to say anything more. I don’t think the carpenter was involved at all. Cadaver dogs made a “hit” on his place but I’ve read of many cases where it turned out they were wrong.

Etan’s dad is a professional photographer and used his son as a model a lot. That’s why there are so many photos of him.

      Anything’s possible, I guess.

sure does seem strange after all the comments Ramos has made about Etan, and the fact he was seen with a boy fitting Etans’ description that day, but regardless I do hope they can get the answers they are looking for.I feel for the Patz family- the not knowing has got to be the worst.
