Hail the conquering Meaghan

Added twenty eighteen (whoops, miscounted) cases today, all of them recent ones — the oldest was “Baby Kate” from June 29 last year. (I’m pretty sure her father killed her.) Because they were all recent cases, most of them had news articles and stuff I had to read, which meant it took forever for me to do write them all up. I mean, if I wrote twenty of those “he/she has never been heard from again, few details are available in his/her case” type cases, it would probably take less than an hour. But today’s update took, gosh, probably five hours at least. I’m trying to make up for my inactivity over the last several months, you see.

Meaghan, good job on the latest round of updates/new cases. If more details mean less frequent updates, I think everyone would be OK with that. It’s sad but true that the “few details are available cases” get very little attention on your site, so the more info you can compile is worth it.

My heart breaks that Katelyn Markham was added to the Charley Project in the most recent round of updates… I’m a Cincinnati, Ohio resident, and her case has rocked me. She and I are both petite graphic designers in long term relationships. I can’t believe she hasn’t been found yet. Her fiance has been an interesting force in helping her case get more press, to the detriment of his own reputation for the public. Just heartbreaking all around…

I agree with a previous commenter — the more details the better. And bless you for all your work, Meaghan!

Yeah, I noticed people saying nasty things about her fiance based on no evidence other than their “feeling” or whatever. I try to keep my criticism of MPs’ loved ones to a minimum, and if there is no evidence against someone and the cops aren’t calling that someone a suspect, I will say nothing in public, no matter what my private thoughts are.

Well done you! Hey, just wanted to let you know about something interesting. Two things I have a great fascination with are cold cases (particularly missing persons’ cold cases as per the ones on your website) and celebrity gossip. One of my favorite sources for celebrity gossip is a website called Crazy Days and Nights, run by someone calling themselves “Entertainment Lawyer” (or “Enty” for short). These two worlds have collided in a very, very interesting way:

This has something to do with the Maura Murray case, which you have on your website. I don’t know if you’d be interested in giving the person on this link any publicity by highlighting what’s on here, but it does make an extremely strange case even stranger.

I am curious too — I wish I knew more. I just got a notice from NamUs saying he’d been located. It’s possible an article might appear in the near future, but I doubt it.

@Jamie – I put a note on a private bulletin board for Butler. If anyone knows the answer, there’s one guy from town who will know. I’ll keep you posted.
