Loren Herzog is dead

Loren Herzog, who was convicted of the murders of Chevelle Wheeler, Cynthia Vanderheiden and two others, committed suicide on Monday.

In 2010, Herzog had been paroled and was required to keep curfew, wear a tracking bracelet and live on the grounds of the High Desert State Prison. He had a trailer there and was free to come and go at will during the daytime hours. He hung himself inside outside his trailer. This may have been prompted by a warning that his partner-in-crime, Wesley Shermantine, was planning to disclose the locations of their victims’ bodies.

I doubt many people will mourn him.

wasn’t chevelle wheeler the one whose body was never found? Wesley Shermantine got the death penalty. I saw that story on FBI files or something.

Herzog did the world a favor. I cannot believe he was sentenced to only 14 years for a murder and was eventually released.

Also Herzog was married with 3 kids? I assumed he had the kids befor he was incarcerated?

He had to have, unless they were triplets or fathered by three different women — can’t have three kids by the same woman in less than two years.

We can only hope that there is a Hell for people like him.
    Sorry if that offends.

I bet now Shermantine won’t tell where the bodies are, if he ever planned to. With Herzog gone there’s nobody to snitch on. No honor among thieves, or killers either.

I recently stumbled again onto a string of comments from 2001 online from Herzog’s wife, defending him and proclaiming his innocence–I had originally read this back in 2001. I would hope she didn’t stick by him during all of this and got on with her life and stopped defending him. He did the world a favor by ending his life and won’t be missed.

Actually it was on either Crime Stories or FBI files show broadcast in the UK just last week and I watched it. I could never understand how Wesley Shermantine refused the deal to take the death penalty off the table, cause he wanted the $20,000 reward money. Unbelievable.

Just so you know, Loren left his tailer, and was found about a mile from my cousins home, under a bridge, about a week ago. Now he has killed himself, I am not sorry he is gone.

The news reports are saying they found the body inside the trailer. Huh.
