Carlina White, almost a year later

Someone sent me this fascinating feature telling the story of Carlina White/Nejdra Nance’s complicated reunion with her biological family. I had predicted that this would be troublesome and I was right, but all is not lost. I believe Carlina and her bio-family can iron out the problems between them and have a good relationship — though not, obviously, the same one they would have had if they had raised her. Carlina seems to have a good head on her shoulders, and to be making the best of bad circumstances.

I was wondering how they were doing. I hope they patch things up all the way, they have all been through too much and were apart too long for them to not be able to get along. It shows how people can realy act out of character when the public gets all up in their business.

As as adopted child, I can tell you how difficult this is with divided loyalties and identities. My heart goes out to Netty.

Hmph smh. Imho, Carlina White should be ashamed to put her mother through any extra hurt. To crave money instead of the bond that a relationship with her long lost family could afford is cheap and selfish. I understand she thought Pettway was her mother, but once she knew she’d been kidnapped as an infant it seems one would realize they’d been living with a heartless thief and a chronic liar with mental issues. I suppose as this is the environment in which she was raised it shouldn’t be surprising that she has a money grubbing mentality. I don’t understand how Carlina could not be angry and bare seeing her real and beautiful mother, as a young teenager, crying out for her on television those many years ago? Sure, you forgive, but not forget. Pettway should have been given twice the sentence she received. It would’ve been poetic justice for how long she kept the White’s apart along with karmic return since she loses life and time spent with her own biological son as well. Needless to say, I’m Team JoyWhite all the way.
