Book about Jodi Huisentruit

There’s a new book out about the Jodi Huisentruit case. She was a TV news anchor who was apparently abducted from Iowa in 1995. The case has never been solved. The book, called Dead Air by Beth Bednar, came out in April. I’ll have to read it.

There are actually quite a few books about individual cases that I haven’t read. I know there are books about Khristine Smith, Jana Carpenter-Koklich, etc. And at least two books about the Janet March case. I just haven’t gotten around to them.

Articles about the Huisentruit book:

I remember this case really well. It was a huge story in 1995 here in Iowa. I remember seeing her on TV as a news anchor before she went missing.

A&E cable network has a new show starting June 2 called The First 48- Missing Persons. Like the original which deals with homicide, this will follow Chicago detectives in the first 48 hours of missing persons investigations.
If it’s HALF as good as the homicide version – it’ll be GREAT!

I know about the show; the producer consulted me.

Sweet! I’m hoping they use the same narrator. That’s guy’s voice just sets the right tone entirely.

Have you ever read Matt Birkbeck’s book ‘A Beautiful Child’, on the Sharon Marshall/Davis case and her missing son Michael Hughes, who was taken by Franklin Delano Floyd? Great book.
