Eugene Losik found dead

Eugene Losik, a 25-year-old Massachusetts man who’d been missing since February, has been found dead near the Rowes Wharf in Boston. This isn’t too far from where he disappeared from. Eugene lived in Lawrence, but on the night of his disappearance he and his girlfriend were staying in a waterfront hotel in Boston. Eugene stepped out for a smoke in the wee hours and never came back.

The cause of death is unknown, but it seems to me that he probably just drowned. He had been to a party on the night of his disappearance and may have been drinking. Even if he hadn’t been, if he slipped and fell in the water, hypothermia would set in very quickly.

Have heard of this happening in Wellington near where I used to live. Except the guy was found within 5 days or so I think.

Maybe he hit his head when he fell in? Or maybe his body got pulled underneath the wharf or hung up on something and that’s why he didn’t get found sooner?

Not wanting to be alarmist or anything, but, for a time, this blog post itself mysteiously disappeared, much like Eugene Losik; and then, equally mysteriously, it re-appeared. Much like Eugene Losik. I’m getting the feeling this place is haunted and I’m walking along a Boston wharf at midnight, with a nor’easter howling and the harbor spray soaking my sea coat, and I’m thinking, “Blimey, old Davy Jones is out to claim his victims on such a night as this.”

At least they found him, though I’m always a bit perplexed how people can be so close to where they disappeared and still not found. Though, this is Boston and I’m from that area, and things can be odd there. Plus, ice in the water and all…..
