Cruddy things that have happened to me this week

1. My computer hard drive croaked and it was in the shop for five days.
2. They had to replace the hard drive.
3. They could get nothing off the old hard drive.
4. It cost $220 altogether to fix.
5. My watch broke. (Not a huge deal, it only cost like $10 and I got it with a gift certificate anyway, but I had really liked it and got a lot of compliments on it.)
6. I had a headache that lasted four or five fracking days and had to go to the doctor.
7. He refused to give me any Demerol, which is what I always got before for severe headaches, and which had worked beautifully. Said he doesn’t keep it in his office anymore cause an employee stole some. I got Toradal instead, which took care of most, but not all, of the pain.
8. I now have another headache.
9. One of my dearest friends in the entire world is moving out of state on Monday and who knows when I’ll see her again.
10. My boyfriend has been up half the night throwing up. He is miserable and by extension, so am I, because I can’t do anything for him besides force him to drink a lot of water. I’m really hoping it’s food poisoning and not something contagious.

That really is a terrible week. I hope it gets better for you. If you can, go out and get your bf some 7up or ginger ale, and (I know it sounds gross) Pedialyte, the unflavored kind. The soda might help settle his stomach, and you can mix the Pedialyte in with it, but it will help keep him hydrated. Broth and/or jello might help some too. I hope he feels better soon, and that you don’t get it too.

He stopped throwing up and is feeling better now. Sleeping all day — thank goodness he doesn’t have to work today. I still feel fine.

Got a new watch too. I don’t like it as much as the old one, but unlike the old one it actually fits. I have such scrawny wrists that most watches wind up sliding halfway up to my elbow.

Velcro watchbands. That’s what I used for a long time.

Sorry about your sucky week. At least it was a memorable one. Everyone has a week that they can tell people when they are having a bad day, “Oh, yeah. You would not BELIEVE the week I had!” Then people all start chipping in about their bad weeks.

Wow, that’s a small arm. My arms are so huge that I don’t wear wrist watches, cut off the circulation a bit. I need one of those watches from Apollo 13 that goes on the outside of the space suit.

My wrist is less than 2 inches wide across the top. I suppose I’d be better off wearing a child’s watch, but it’s hard to find any that don’t have cartoon characters or such on them.

I’m 5’6 tall but really tiny generally. No hips to speak of, scrawny little arms, etc. People tend to guess that I weigh about 100 pounds; actually I weigh 120ish. A boys’ size 12-14 fits me very well. A year or so ago I wrote on this blog that I found a dress I had last worn when I was 12 or so. The thing still fits. It’s shorter than it used to be and it’s a little tight around the middle, but it’s still very wearable.

I hear ya. Before I got pregnant with my son it was the same thing with me. Some of my friends still call me Chicken Legs. I was in junior girls’ clothes. Let me tell ya, it’s a shock now what I wear! You are better with watches than I am though…I have about seven, all with dead batteries LOL.

Yes, Justin, and I guess it makes the good weeks good by comparison ;o), but something you can laugh about in retrospect can SUCK BIG TIME when it happens!

Find yourself a good book, Meagan ;o)
